Even after fighting Hedrack, my wizard was only 8th level, so Dimension Door was the way to go, until I finally got her up to 9th. This game started out as an experiment... Thieves' Guild, all five starting characters were rogues. By the time I finished the moathouse, only two of my original ...

I finally found a decent way around the new trap, at least to finish out this game. Assuming you've already fought the big battle with Hedrack and are just travelling to the Nodes, have your wizard-type use Dimension Door to hop over the trap area. Then have that same character walk solo to the ...
bariumdose, why post such in a 2-year-old thread?
Because it appears that the Rope has been made useful by one of the recent patches. I've got one right now, but haven't to Entangle anyone yet.

I haven't quite finished this game, because the battle with the Sheriff has been too much work and not enough fun for me to finish so far. Otherwise, the only time that I cheated was when I used the no_clip cheat to get through that swimming challenge in the nosferatu tunnels. I'm playing a second ...

Do any of the Detect Spells work now? I gave up on them a long time ago, but maybe there's a patch or mod that makes them work?

I read through the 13 pages of that thread that you linked to, and tried everything except for getting info from the trolls. I would have to go too far back to my previous save and re-fight that intense battle with the Fire Temple to have a chance at interrogating 4th level trolls about the trap ...

Well, given my posting name, of course I tried this game in Iron Man mode. After sixteen dead parties, I gave up on Iron Man mode so I could actually finish the game. Once I've beat the game a few times with the Liv mod in effect, I will give it a serious try in Iron Man mode.

I tried Ice Storm a couple of days ago and that didn't work, but now that you mention it, a couple of fights involving trolls opened up a dialogue box when I was down to the last troll, indicating a possibility of extracting info from them. My current party is not very good at the social skills ...

More field research on the new trap:

It is nastier when you are trying to leave than when you enter. On the way, your people run through without pausing, usually only "rolling" two saving throws. On the way out, after the really big battle with Hendrack in my case, your people pause after each ...

Thanks, I'll give that a try once I get home.

I just remembered a couple of other unusual things that I noticed yesterday. Iuz killed Scorpp during the fight. After the confrontation between Iuz and Cuthbert, Iuz raised Hedrack from the dead and turned the rest of the dead into zombies, as usual ...

After watching (or skipping) the intro movie with the cool animation, you will get the standard menu, to load game, save game, etc. One of your menu options should be Options. Click on that and you will get a screen where you can fiddle with things like sound volune. There is a box with an "x" in it ...

The new trap. **SPOILER**

So, I've installed the 3rd patch now, in the middle of my current game. Just yesterday, I got my party down to the 4th level. Midway down the main corridor was something new and unwelcome... a trap.

The trap consists of a regular eruption of electrical energy in the corridor, in between two ...
So - just picked up this game in the bargain bin very cheaply, and decided to give it a go seeing as I've got little else to play at the moment :)

So I went to download patches, and noticed patch 1, 2 and 3. In itself this usually would yield no problems, except - patch 1 is larger ...

I'm playing through a second time now, this time as a Tremere female. I just got to Hollywood yesterday and got the Samantha encounter. I didn't like getting that Masquerade violation when I played as a Gangrel, so I thought that I'd try to stop Samantha properly this time, only I wanted to be ...

I didn't get around to talking to anybody at the Giovanni Mansion, what with all the shooting and sneaking and stuff. Thanks for the advice, you were right. It's funny, because what was messing me up was the guy whispering at me, psst come over here, so I would start moving over there and that was interfering with the start of the dialogue. So the next time that I played this scene, I stopped moving as soon as he ...

My first time through this game, I played a Gangrel, but my main disciplines were Fortitude and Fire Axe. Late in the game, I switched over to katana, and really enjoyed the pretty music whenever I did the stealth kills.
