Buck,

Three words: tax exempt status.

You can get tax exempt status for social and hobby clubs in the States(and likely in other nations as well). You and the others at Flashlink should look into that.

I'll second that if it's coupled with a larger spoiler warning at the entrance to the message board.

"WARNING: Messages may contain SEVERE spoilers. We ask that all users post spoiler warnings, but realize that newer users sometimes will not. Proceed with caution."

A compromise of sorts.

Yeah, making a bigger spoiler warning and making the "mark your spoilers" official would be nice, even though telling people to mark their spoilers wouldn't prevent everything.

I vote for big, flashing, seizure-inducing animated spoiler warning and rules GIFs at the MB entrance! :P

Ya know, I think this could work, provided it generates enough income. I'm warming up to this idea.

I edited my post while you were typing yours. We're too darn eager.

Regarding him putting a spoiler in his topic, he'd be in the wrong if there was a rule against it posted at the entrance to the forums or somewhere. As is, he wasn't really doing anything wrong.

[EDIT: Hmm, there IS spoiler ...

We should take this to mail or to IRC/ICQ as Flagg said, Pope, so we can bash each other.

What kind of word is spoiler-anal?!
You, you sick minded person!

Haven't you heard the term anal retentive?

People that wish to visit message boards, like me, can do as they wish.

I never said they couldn't.

I don't think you are in the position to judge them for that.

I never judged ...

As they say, do what ya gotta do. I wouldn't be willing to pay for the equipment lists or things like that, but I might be willing to pay for stuff like message board access. That's definately worth money.

I agree with you, Flagg. I was just giving some tips for the extremely spoiler-anal folks(such as myself). And you listed a very nice option for the spoiler-anal to use message boards with a bit more spoiler safety.

You're right.

This sentence wasn't the clearest one in the world, but I only read it one of the many ways it could have been read: If a player can't beat the game after 10 years of trying, as you state so darn full of yourself, then he should post his problem over here. The "as you state" would ...

My opinion is that if you need information about the game you should go to a message board whether you finished the game or not, and risk the ocassional spoiler, I just think spoilers should not be encouraged and that's what you did.

Regarding asking on a message board being easier, I agree. IF ...

Had a post blasting you here, Pope.

We don't need a flame war though.

Of course, a message bord cannot be spoiler free, but is it realy that hard not to post a spoiler in the thread name?

Not hard at all, but newbies will load their subject line with spoilers, as everyone knows.

That would mean you shouldn't go to a board before you didn't complete the game in ...

I too play with the AI scripts off most of the time, but I've found they come in handy for mop up. I set everyone's script to aggressive fighter then toggle the AI on after taking control of the battle(when the enemies are all badly wounded or worse). Also handy for taking out weak packs of enemies ...

The bottom line is this:

- A message board cannot be spoiler free. It would be nice if it could be, but there will always be people posting message with spoilers in the topics. When you educate one person who posts such things, another appears to take his or her place.

- I hate spoilers. Back in ...

I don't think you can solve all your game problems just by consulting some FAQs, because the people who compiled them don't have the same experience with the game that you can find on a message board.

You don't know what you're talking about. While there will always be some pretty sad FAQs out ...

Actually, it's more like this:
Dude A goes to a bar to have a goodnight. By spilling his drink on Dude B, he ruins B's night. In your reasoning, there's no problem at all, since B is responsible for being there. If he hadn't gone to that specific bar that night, nothing would've happened ...

It wasn't directed at you. If anything, it was directed more at dafreak. He need not be apologizing. It's as if someone drives into a construction site where a skyscraper is being built, in an attempt to take a shortcut around traffic on their way to work. The driver wrecks his or her car into one ...

Please, don't apologize. You've done NOTHING wrong AT ALL.

If someone finds their game spoiled because they CHOOSE to come to a message board, then it's entirely their fault. If they really need help getting past a certain puzzle or killing a certain creature, they can and SHOULD consult a FAQ or ...
