I thought maybe my "villain" will be polymorphed into a helpless woman who's travelling with them for his "research".

I just need to understand the "why"..

Quickstarting a game, what do you think?

My friends and I are quite a large group (6+DM).
We played a rather long campaign that ended a couple of months ago and now we're gonna start fresh with me DM (No one else wanted...)

We dont want to do it again from level 1 to 12, so we decided randomly to start at level 4.

We hate the first ...

Rogues are my favourite.
In my last game I played a Drow Rogue and multiclassed to Necromancer later on (After 5-6 levels as Rogue)..
It was a very long campaign because I even reached a Prestige Class (Arcane Trickster) which suited me perfectly, pick-pocketing from 30 ft. rules!

I never played a ...

The problem with notes is that it really slows the game.
Have you ever tried another system to pass secret instructions?

Dealing with bluffs

I know it's a popular subject but I'd like to hear your thoughts about it.

In one of our adventures we had to retrieve a special ring.
After a long adventure we found this ring and while playing a rogue I just had to steal it.
So I sent a note to my DM and told him that I'll be taking this ring and ...

We basically have three rules that we just can't follow or it will kill us:

1. Encumbrance - Everyone can carry whatever they want unless it just sounds like too much (My warrior friend bought 200 spears...just an everyday example..)

2. Age - No one gets older. We decided randomly that every level ...

What's the limit on Sneak Attacks?

My character is a Rogue/Mage 6/2 Elf.

I was wondering, can I sneak attack with a Magic Missile??
On the one hand it sounds stupid but I just caught my enemy flat-footed and probably I can aim my Missile just like a regular crossbow bolt (that is "sneakable").

Or you know what, I read some reviews and IWD seems much better. I'll take a crack at it (Even though it's real-time which I hate...)

Well, we used to play BG & BG2 but I wanted something which is closer to the real rules...
I'll give Pool of Radience a shot...

3.5 Edition PC Game?

I had my players play Temple of Elemental Evil for the PC in order for them to get an idea of how the turn-based encounters work.

Is there another game that uses 3.5 edition rules and is turn based?

Everyone's Dead, what to do??

Hi All,

I have a problem with my party.
They stepped into a fight with a Beholder that just killed them all within 3-4 rounds (2 were disintigrated, 2 became stone and 2 just had a bad visit from a Finger of Death).

Anyway, we agreed to do a "Load" to before the party entered the room.

Was there ...
