Naked mage.

You read right, nekkid mage :) I am currently soloing a mage that is so poor he cannot even afford a fresh pair of socks. That means no robe of vecna, no amulet of power, no boots of speed, no staff of the magi, no nothing! Well except for a normal quarterstaff :) The game becomes much more fun ...

Soloing is quite easy with almost any class, so I would choose the one you think you'll have the most fun with. For me it is a generalist mage.

Hello again. I was away on holidays for a few weeks, so I haven't progressed much.

Xyx, those battles were extremely easy because they usually involved only one powerful enemy. I have tons of Blindess spells memorized, so I just cast it until they fail their save, then fill their posteriors with ...

Wizard slayers CAN wear the boots of speed, and they can now drink healing potions as well as antidotes. I soloed a half-orc wizard slayer wielding the flail of ages and the shield of harmony, and the only difficult fight was the illithid ambush in the underdark (first drow mission).

What's up with the front page?

I can't access the news or any of the features. Or is it only me?

Well I started soloing with my CG human mage. This is my first time playing BG, so I've been using the gamebanshee walkthrough to pick out the easy sidequests. Right now I need 2k exp to reach 5th level. Once I do that I'll probably attempt the Nashkel mines to progress in the story.

So far my ...

Is soloing a mage impossible in BG1?

I would like to take a single mage all the way through the saga. It's easy to solo in BG2, quite hard in ToB, but is it totally impossible in BG1?

Thanks.

Viable ToB solo classes

My solo archer, my favorite character, who had such an easy time through SoA, got his ass handed to him in ToB. Very disappointing :( .

So, which classes have you guys soloed ToB with? I know some of you have succeeded with a sorceror, although I'm sure it couldn't have been easy. I prefer pure ...

Aah, I hadn't thought of trying that. You're correct, when I refused the guild he offered me the sword. Oh well...

Thanks!

Short Sword of Backstabbing

Hi. I am soloing as a swashbuckler. I assassinated Mae'Var, and went to Renal Bloodscalp to claim my reward. He gives me 10500 gold but no sword! Any reason for that?

Thanks.

Bob is the name I gave the Lesser Air Elemental you can summon using the Staff of Air +2, so I wouldn't have to write the whole thing every time. I explained that in the story.

Dumb thief question

Is there any real benefit to raising a thief skill past 100? Is there a max?

Told you it was dumb. Indulge me.

Thanks.
