xParty AI script 1.4 released

This highly sophisticated yet conservative AI script automates tedious aspects of the game and leaves the cool stuff to the player. The script offers many configurable settings and provides lots of feedback. All class combinations and all of the NPCs are fully supported, so the script can be used by ...

I consider these rather essential:

BG2 Fixpack
The spiritual successor to the Baldurdash fixes. Without some sort of fixpack, you're guaranteed to run into quest-breaking bugs. The Fixpack is not a guarantee that you won't, but just look at the ginormous list of fixes and you should get the ...

he kept switching back to fists (being in close combat), so I had to disable the AI.
That is quite unavoidable, and to do otherwise would be suicidal in most situations. Using a ranged weapon in melee gets you -8 to hit and gives your opponents +4 to hit and +4 damage. To avoid this, the script ...

he didn't have a missile weapon equipped as he had no skill in any t that point.
You could set his style to Guard so that he won't rush into melee.

Definitely.
That's seriously weird. I'm 99% positive that scripts do not interrupt spellcasting. I gave Viconia this uberbasic script:

IF

Upon entering the back room of the Copper Coronet, where you get attacked by two mages and three fighters, I instructed my mage to fire a magic missile at the nearest mage, but instead he ran off to hit one of the fighters who was if anything further away, with his stick, resulting in him being ...

Alright, here it is: xSeries AI script 1.1 beta release, in the Throne of Bhaal forum (since it does, of course, require Throne of Bhaal.)

xSeries AI script 1.1 beta release

I wrote an AI script for the entire party, and I need beta testers!

Excerpt from the ReadMe:
I wrote these scripts for personal convenience. These highly sophisticated scripts automate tedious parts of the game, leaving the cool stuff to the player. Highlights include healing the party at the ...

Lemme get the ReadMe in order, then I'll upload version 1.1 somewhere. The ReadMe is a little tl;dr, so I'll try to include a Quick Start.

Would you like to see the debug text? I have characters speak lines like "Melee", "RANGED:", "Defend me!", "Run away! Ha ha ha!" and whatnot to explain what ...

I played a lot of Kensai, but only ever with the intention of dualling to Mage or Thief (preferably at 13). The no-armor restriction is very annoying for a tank. Bring an extra healer.

Keep in mind that Kensai can throw daggers and axes rather well. It's hard to get a magical throwing axe or dagger ...

I have recently returned to the world of BG2 and I have followed this topic with interest. I am currently working on a party AI script that is, in my ever so humble opinion, better than everything else I could find, and I really need beta testers.

I personally love this script to death. It has all ...

The Lesser elemental summonings are useless during combat, but since they have a duration of 8 hours you can cast them way in advance. Still not the best of level 5 arcane spells, though.

Implosion, Dispel Magic, Animate Dead, Wondrous Recall, Chaotic Commands, Free Action, Negative Plane Protection, Shield of the Archons and Draw Upon Holy Might are pretty nice, and Clerics get good amounts of them.

Viconia's magic resistance is totally uber.

Other than that, single-classed ...

Work on Return to Windspear has been picked up and is now back at full speed. Almost everything is in place now. It won't be long before we start testing, teaking and fiddling with details. We're aiming for a summer release (a goal we consider realistic based on years of experience :D ).
