I have all those issues too with my xbox 360, thought i would share that with you, dont think there is a fix tho, i have not seen anything on xbox live downloads sadly.

Have you tried reinstalling the game but keeping the saves?

Where in the stratagy guide do you see it says there are containers in the rooms. If you do see that, you must be looking at the wrong doors.
