It doesn't really matter actually. If you put enough in either one way of combat you are pretty much trash anything in the game. The guns are not as bad as the manual makes it sound. If you run out of ammo, run out of the room screaming and pray for someone round the corner for you to drink.

Lower the refresh rate or try changing ur card settings. Or maybe ur monitor is a little screwed and is dark, which you only notice in a dark game. No pun intended.

Nice. It helps with determining the timeline of the game. Though money is never a real problem unless you're a spectacular bad shot and need to keep getting ammo.

Gamebanshee's walkthrough tells you how much exp you get for each quest. Why don't you want to do the sidequests anyway? Are you in such a hurry to finish the game? The sidequests are kinda fun.

Dude, if you have enough celerity, nothing in the game is a problem. You can avoid anything (you can be even faster than the werewolf you meet) and deal damage at an amazing rate. Melee or range, Ming is a breeze with celerity.

Amen. That's right, mostly. You can strafe away (A or D key) when the sheriff dives. I don't like to use the flamethrower cuz you have to be close up. Just fire away while he's in the air. The area effect of the Jagg helps this. Use the flamer on the Grangels.
