If those were the only choices and I absolutely "had" to change to one, I would probably go with either Lothlorien or Rivendell on LotR. The choices seemed pretty stilted towards Scifi. I am not familiar with "The Culture" but of the others listed, 6 were scifi and only 2 were fantasy. Thinking of ...

Well, actually all of them aren't that bad. Federation, Foundation and Culture all are as nice or better for Joe Average than the real world is for an average westerner. :)

I also like to live in the real world, which is why I phrased the question as "If you had to move to a scifi or a fantasy ...

Yes, if you had to move to some scifi/fantasy setting, which one you would choose? :)

EDIT: Unfortunately there were only 10 poll options allowed, so if a mod reads this, it would be nice if the following choises are added. :)

-Earth Alliance (Babylon 5)
-Hegemony (Hyperion)
-Alienverse
-Firefly ...

How I can open console in NWN?

Hi

I know that you are supposed to press ~ but it isn't that simple as I have Finnish keyboard. In Finnish keyboard you are supposed to press Alt Gr and then ~ -key twice to get it, and thanks to this it doesn't work in NWN.

Why women oppose nuclear power more than men?

I have been wondering what is causing this. At least here in Finland, whenever there is a poll, larger percentage in women opposes building more nuclear plants. Same thing happens when the question is whether or not Finland should join NATO. So what do you think is causing this? Could it be that ...

I meant to ask what is happening in the end movie, as it seems like a green beam weapon is fired from the top of that mountain..

Yeah, I know, the PC became a god (or didn't) but what it has to do with a mountain or laser thingy..

Did I find some new cheese?

I tried to cast chain contigency from a project image.. Well, it didn't work, there were no spells to select from.

Then I pressed the 'cleric' button which swithces to cleric spells in case of a cleric-mage. Surprisingly there were lots of cleric spells available, which shouldn't be there as my PC ...

Edwin's amulet is because he is a Red Wizard. In 2nd ed they were essentially double-specialists and got two extra spells/level.

Btw, if that is the case, shouldn't he then have 1 spell more per level than normal specialist mages and not 2?

Still, it kinda sucks that a NPC is so much better ...

Im currently trying to make a PC mage (conjurer) with as high wisdom as possible to abuse the wish spell.. After SoA final battle and Watcher's keep it would have following stats (thanks to tomes in BG1):

@Joku:
You are making sense, quite probably because that is what I think as well. It just doesn't seem to coincide with what you said about the analogy being flawed because of a difference in probabilities. The analogy is to point out one thing - that an ordered object (which we live in) implies an ...

So now are we dealing with 'real' probabilities? And if so, where (and why) is the threshold probability for scientific fact? Does an event change from being 'practically impossible' to being taken as scientific fact (with evidence supporting, of course) at some certain probability?

If probablity ...

On the contrary, I've just suggested a method that could make a Boeing by chance - a tornado going through a junkyard.

A Boeing being made that way is far more unlikely (practically impossible) than life starting by "chance". For example, there are far more different types of parts in a boing ...

The probability that we are created is 1 in 1. The probability another species like us on another planet somewhere is created, is exactly like the tornado whirling a 747 together.

That Boing analogy is flawed, because we don't know any mechanism that could make a 747 by chance, but we do know ...

It is extremely unlikely that all people would interpret the information incorrectly in the same way. If they would interpret it ...
