For areas refusing to load: Have you been listening to the in game sounds with Windows Media Player? That'll screw them up and they won't load in game. I can't help ya with the "Can't Go into Buildings" problem though.

If I recall correctly you can go around the locked door through a side tunnel and come out behind it.

You might want to look around and find a guide on XP maxing. If you do everything perfectly you'll earn a ton of extra experience by the end of the game though some parts might be a little more difficult because you'll have to allocate some XP to non-essential skills like Persuation. Specifically you need to get the xp before accepting the task of taking care of the Kuei Jin. You need to have the points before you speak with him in the Asylum. Assuming you first speak with him outside of the Medical Clinic it'll be the second time you speak with him.

I hacked Heather to safety. If there were some way to try and prevent it I would've done that but the only way to save her is to cheat by editing a couple files.

You're right, I think there is. I was thinking of after first meeting her where you just report on your progress.

I don't think its possible to trigger combat with her through the dialogue. I do kill her after I've completed her quests though.

You need Perception. I think three Dots of Perception.

Its not an uncommon thing for games like this to have user imposed challenges. You should see some of the ones from games like Final Fantasy X or Star Ocean: Til the End of Time.
