I view the Kensai as a Monk but with blades insead of fists. In my view a Kensai > Thief is someone like a samurai who started out as a perfectionist with honor being their top value and mastery of the blade their highest priority and then suddenly said char decided to do a 180 degree turn and ...

A solo priest would be challenging indeed. you get a whole lot of defensive buffs but alot less in terms of offense than a mage. Regarding the beast master, I'm surprised. The +4 thac0 would definitly help early on but later when thac0 is in the negative teens it dosn't really matter. I get the ...

How can a Beastmaster have higher damage output than a standard ranger? They both use the same tables for Thac0 saves AC ect ect. If the beast master is using some overlooked wooden weapon, that can certainly be equipped on a Ranger.

Anyways after reading a few Legend of Drizzt books I felt the ...

A cavalier is reallly powerful. I played one. The guy's unstoppable: Carsomyr + high level AoF + Hardtiness, and he's both resilient and dices baddies like there's no tomorrow with GWW. The innate resistance to fear is sweet too.

I would consider a beast master underpowered. I've played a Ranger ...

which operating system are you using. I would possibly try reinstalling if the quick save dosn't work. Very strange indeed. Try patching first anyway

The Fighter/Cleric multiclass is the most powerful, as Saros said, due to the fact that you have access to 2 high level abilities pools (HLA).

If you really want to dual class I suggest level 9, assuming of course, that you can live without being a cleric in BGI. The latest you'd want to dual is ...

Spoilers ahead, you have been warned.

I agree. I like Korgan so much because of his personality, that I totally overlooked dualing Sarevok to a Thief or Mage. Dualed, there is no doubt he outclasses Korgan by large margin. Especially when dualed to a mage. Then again, since he starts out at a ...

@Dummy: As long as your enjoying the game, you've made an excellent choice. While I prefer Arcane power, people have solo'ed the game without it so you shouldn't run into difficulties.

@Thrifalas: The only reason Mr S. has deathbringer assult, and the stats he does, is to appeal to powergamers. The ...

Easiest playthrough:

Mage/Thief
Ranger/Cleric
2x Sorceror
2x Kensai 13>Mage

This party would be nearly indestructalbe :)

For roleplaying reasons using Bioware NPC's

Berserker 13 > Cleric
Jaheira
Edwin
Jan
Korgan
Imoen

(Mr S) is over rated. Korgan has a better personality and dwarven saving ...

Yes, but why would a straight Thief or Bard want to use Carsomyr ?? It's two handed, you can't use the offhand and you don't have GWW to compensate.
Furthermore even though you can use it, you can't backstab with it since it's not an item usable by a thief without UAI.

It's only use is to make ...

Remove magic is better in fights against low-medium level mages, but not against powerful arcane casters such as liches or Irenicus. The reason is that remove magic does everything dispel does but dosn't debuff allies. However remove magic is not that likely to succeed against say a lich. Regarding ...

Did you actually cast the spell on the street or just had MMM equiped that had been cast elsewhere outside the jurisdiction of the cowled mages ??
Try casting other spells to see if it's a bug.

Actually you may want to look into G3 fixpack, It's got everything Baldurdash has and more. It's critical you install either G3 (better) or Baldurdash, because they get rid of about 98% of the bugs not covered by the patch.

I've also heard that Carsomyr +5 dispels at the level of a level 10 caster. I'm not sure about the +6 version, but thats really unimportant. By the time you get the +6 version, your clerics will be exploding liches at will, and your thieves ought to be chunking them with 1 backstab.

Keldorns dispel ...

Why not try a pure Solo Cleric for a difficult game or even a Berserker 13 > cleric if you want it a bit easier but still hard. Not having access to arcane power will cripple you enough to provide challenge, but this class is alot more powerfull than any straight fighter subclass.

Edit: Don't go X ...

Exactly. Whenever I use Keldorn his dispel is a last resort kind of thing due to it's nature of being a double edged sword. It is however useful for debuffing liches it is arguably more important to debuff a lich then to keep your own buffs active during the fight.

I still say there's no "most likely party" because it all depends on aligment. An evil PC may be motivated to kill Minsc on the spot and leave Jaheira rotting in her cell. The classical teams proposed here are assume that the PC has a good aligment. Assuming that I'd say the classical team would be ...
