In the long run I'd have to pick BG2, but then again I can't recall a gaming experience that matched my first time though BG1 for outright joy and addiction.

Yeah, I was pretty irked about this too. Before I first bought the game and was salivating over what character to play, I thought 2 options would be great: Archer dualed to thief and Undead Hunter dualed to cleric. I was mighty pissed when I found out that both were impossible.
