I understand WotC picking up the pase between upgrades as it's good for sales.
However, for most players this new edition it too soon.
It took longer between last editions (excl 3.0 --> 3.5).
However, new players will buy it... perhaps players who retired before will be drawn back top the game.

It also can help if you make a point, ingame.
If they roll a demented character, make him lose his spellbook before a combat.
Suit the combat for the other character while he can only sit and watch.
Hey, have the fun bits, but also experience the downside mate!

Nice rundown.
I was also curious about the dualist class myself but didn't work it out yet.
When I look at it like this, it seems underpowered if anything.
Don't think I'll burn my fingers on it.

In sucha divers group, I'd go with a basic character.
Let the rest show of with their unreal characters.
Create a human fighter and come up with a nice backgroud is my advice. Take a prestige-class later to give it some spice. A Dragon rider perhaps, to taunt the dragon character with.

I don't think this is waht Babelfish is for.
For communication to someone, use an expert.
However, when I get an email in a language I don't understand, I use Babelfish. (internal mails of global company, so some are native and not in Englisch)
The contect wil be slightly giberish and some things ...

I take it the players are the heroes raised from the dead?
As I'm not familiar with the setting, I'll just toss you an idea.
How about linking the two together?
The problem is death related, but so is the solution Whoever is behind this counted on the heroes bein ressed and this leads to the next ...

Just for the record, I didn't mean you were.
I was quoting dear old grandma.
Work on sunday, eh?
Must be a law against it somewhere... *flips through some papers*
Nope! Too bad!

My grandma used to say: A man in the evening, then be a man in the monring!
So no whining on sunday morning.
They didn't call her the Concrete guy for nothing.

I kind of like the blindness factor.
It makes him tougher due to the other bonusses, but kind of balances it out.
I did't do the math, Sib did that already and he's very good at that. :)
The blindness combined with spellcasting is ok, makes him a "Area of effect caster".
Is it dispellable with a ...

Sounds like a nice idea.
What I find amusing is taking bits of the game that are silly and using them.
For example, the DM rolls an secretly spot check behind the screen when the characters don't know they are being watched.
All fail and one of the players (who saw the roll) says: "I feel like I ...
