Since i cannot play an Aasimar Paladin , Thiefling Rogue or a drow mage , i played an Elven Fighter/Archer (19) Rogue (1).

I am currently thinking of playing a Elven Mage with a black panther as familiar . I just can't motivate myself enough .

If you use a shield on "parry mode" your parry skill drops incredibly .

It's a spell component. If your character is a mage , you can use them in several parts of the game . Don't bother loading yourself with them though you will find one in every corner .

Just a little warning : Do not equip a shield when in parry mode.

I am planning to start my character as a rogue , get "sneak attack" feat then switching to fighter at the first level up.

Will my character be able to use "sneak attack" as a fighter ?

Same problem happened to me .. I had to download a 100 mb sized Service Pack from Microsoft.com .. It was frustrating ..
