how do you get in to custard mansion. the door is locked. do you have to kill the vampiress or is it something else. i'd really like to know

thanks for the help but she still hasn't shown. I fought her with a poison dagger--is it possible that she died somewhere--but i only took away about an 1/8th of her health- i hope not

i fought the vampiress once, then she disapeared. where is she??? I came back later and waited and waited but she never showed. and how do you stop her from immobilizing you, its really annoying.
