(Decided to have another go at NWN2 after giving up in January and was not using the walkthrough this time; that ended quickly. :p )

I restarted a looong ago save and I'm doing the Eyegouger cave first before Skymirror just in case. I see that her badger is out so if it is a problem again, I'll try dismissing it first.

That's AWESOME! I just renamed my char the same as NWN1- Torchiel Peanutine (from my cat Torch and my dog Peanut (70 lbs-lol)). When I saw Deekin for a second I thought he was going to remember me and when he didn't I was a little sad. Maybe I'm Torchiel who was named after her cool adventuring ...

So if you boot your entire party, nothing happens? :confused:

If I boot everyone (but Elanee, it doesn't give me the option) then I end up outside with Elanee and her badger (badgerbadger). The little kid just went inside so I followed and after the conversation it gives me the party screen again ...

Alrighty. I'm back from the Skymirror and I went into the Sunken Flagon and when I leave it won't let me select Elanee to boot from the party. Her line is dark. I'm not playing Elanee and I've reloaded several times and nada. Went to the weeping willow and back to the flagon and nada. Searched on ...

Okay, my 2 questions today are:

The items in my chars inventories keep disappearing. Like, I had this fire mace thingy and when I reloaded once, it was just gone. The picture was still in my quickslot, but it was in none of my chars inventories. Reloaded again and nada. Just now in Leldon's hideout ...

Oops, not Charisma, Intelligence. Of which I have little apparently.

Thanks, I tried that in one of my first go-rounds with the file. Turned on read-only, turn it off, turn on archiving, turned it off... Turned it to compat for XP for the file, then for the whole game...
I just have the User Account Control off for now and restarted the game ( :( ), playing a mage ...

I see on the walkthough if you talk to him and say he's a liar, he'll give you gold and exp. I never get that option. I listen to his story, say that's fascinating, and he leaves. Or I listen, say I have to go now, and he leaves. I've tried with high Charisma, low char, male char, female char ...

WOW! I could finally save my .ini file!! I restarted cpu and then restarted SOA. NO saved ...

Thanks for the helpful advice! I went and changed the entire BG- SOA folder to compatability for XP. That's when it again said file exists- overwrite? (or something to that effect) and when I said yes, it gave me the same error. I guess it has something to do with Vista. Argh.

I posted it in tech ...

The Vista was already on the computer, I think. Unless that's what I paid the Geek Squad @ Best Buy to do right after I bought it. They took it and had it for an hour doing something. Maybe that's when they installed the Vista.

If I turn it on, it just goes right to the desktop. I don't have to log ...

It's my computer and I installed it and everything. My computer is hooked up to my husband's computer in his room by a... ugh. A thing that hooks up computers, I can't think of the name. But the ...

This may be something as well: It's trying to save it as a .txt document even though it's an .ini. Is that anything? I switched it to save as .txt to save as All Files, and it said do I want to overwrite, but then it gave me the same error message as before.
So close, yet so far...

Rats, it wasn't checked. Maybe I should check it :laugh: . Another problem is maybe I'm running AWFUL AWFUL Vista. Is that anything? I switched it to Compatability Mode for Windows XP and tried again, but nada.

I guess I'm doomed not to stick a fork in that ...

This is a two-parter:
I opened the .ini file and put in the Debug Mode=1. Now when I go to save it it says:

Cannot create the C:\program files\black isle\bgII- SOA\baldur.ini file
Make sure that the path name and file are correct.

I'm really bad at computer things, so forgive me if it's something ...

Oh heck. And:

C: HOLY MOLY. That is a lot of patches on the Baldurdash page. Which one(s) do I use? And it says something about not installing it if you have TOB installed, which I do. Anyway to take it out?

I have the feeling I'm going to need to uninstall...

Hmmmm, so:

A: I downloaded the patch from BioWare's site. It says I already have SOA installed and cancelled it. I downloaded the TOB patch and now I can click on Hendak and walk over to him, but no conversation happens. Also, (I forgot about this) the key that I'm holding for the cells won't open ...
