Thanks Tricky...
How then, do I export my character? Or can't I?
What I'm getting at is, is Shivered Isles (and Knights of the Nine come to that) a stand-alone game that cannot transfer my character? For instance, in Icewind Dale, I could export my characters and use them in expansion games. Can ...

Thanks Toushiro
I'm a dummy! Turns out it was being blocked by my firewall. I thought I'd given access permission, but I hadn't. Thanks again for taking the time to answer

When I try to load my game I get the message:
error loading NvCpl.dll
Invalid access to memory location.
I've run this game before and it worked fine. So I updated the game but I'm still getting the error message. Any ideas please?

You guys rock!
Thanks guys! The '`' worked great. I had to tweak a bit; on my pc DebugMode 1 IS case-sensitive. Also, whilst in the console the upper half of my screen isn't yellow, its grey (could be my graphic card which is only GeForce 6200), but I don't have to type DebugMode 0 to get rid of ...

I just cannot get the commands to work. There are several posts about this, but some say different things. One says open console by just pressing ~. I tried that and nothing happened, not even the 'yellow at the top of the screen'. Another said press Enter to access chat, then ~. Another said his ...

Same problem...
I've had exactly the same problem as you. Same message, same worm. I can now play the game again; here's what I did:
I disconnected my modem cable, so I was no longer on the internet.
I exited AVG Control Centre.
I disabled Spyware terminator.
I disabled Comodo Firewall.
Then I ...

What reeeaally bugs me...!
... is when characters who I have to talk to to receive quests refuse to talk to me ("So-and-so is busy at the moment and cannot talk...)!!! I have to go and do something else and come back. Even then they sometimes still won't talk!! Makes my blood boil!!!

Thanks Guys!
I was trying to find the file in ToB. When I looked for it in SoA it was there! Thanks for the advice - it may come in useful in the future. Incidentally, is there something like Gatekeeper or Dalekeeper that will work with SoA? Or does Gatekeeper do the job?

Hi everyone! I've played BG and BGII several times, but never with cheats. So I would like to see what it's like to cheat. My problem is, I've taken advice from these forum postings about using Notepad to access Baldur.ini file, but when I click on open I get the message that Notepad cannot find ...

Thank you Aerich!
Thanks for your kind help. I reinstalled the game again, this time just IWD without HoW and it works fine. I'll just reinstall HoW afterwards. Thanks again!

I just started a new game of IWD with imported characters - each level 7 or thereabouts. I cleared out the orcs, cleared out the bugs in the inn, dealt with Jhonen's Aqua Elf quest, gave the fisherman the caravan contract and delivered the supply list to Pomab. When I returned to Hrothgar he asked ...

Thanks dragon wench! Yes, I have HoW installed also - I got the 3-in-1 Boxset. What I really want to do is to be able to type in a few cheats now and then, (not the file editor ones - too complicated for me!). But when I go to cheat sites they say I have to download a patch. I've tried pressing Ctrl ...

Can someone please take pity on a dumb newby? I want to download the 1.6 patch. Everything goes ok, then I'm told that my file already exists and do I want to overwrite it. I didn't, cos I'm scared it will wipe the game off my disk or something! What do I do to install the patch?
