Are there any good ones? What are the options, I have a friend that is new and trying out the Barbarian and immediatly regreted his decision because he feels like a mindless fighter.

Thanks, I found a couple things about training in "Animal Handle" obviously, but I was wondering if there was anything I can do to create my pickpocketing monkey.

What book comes with information on pets and handleing them and their skills. I need to see how much it costs to train an animal.

Thank you, I will definitely check that out. I really just want to give them the best possible enjoyment, and the more creative with there skills are, I beleive the better the game will be, and more xp the DM might give them.

I don't beleive there is a counter attack option.

And I understand that these things might not be in the rules, but it all depends on if the DM is willing to adjust his style of play if we could realistically set up a good way to pull that attack off.
