Did some trial and error NPC-spawning and found out that Edwins quest was solved by spawning a guy called Degardan (only his creature code is DEGARD). My solution was: loading an old save and playing from there again.

Shar-teel is a good choice imo. For the general "evil" feel of your party I take it you only want evil characters. Since you limit yourself to 4 chars, you could probably skip having a mage altogether. Like Crenshinibon says, ranged weapons rip most things apart with little problem. Kagain could ...
