Are you allowed to pick up NPCs to initiate their quests? Maybe a bit cheesy, but the ring of wizardry from Jaheiras quest could be quite useful? Of course you get one from the planar sphere later on, but you could always use both unless you want ring of Gaxx + something else.

One thing I noticed is that if you do the tutorial before starting the game, you can have your protagonist memorize spells without needing to rest in Irenicus' dungeon. AFAIK you don't start with spells memorized any other way.

I played through BG1 and ToTSC with that exact party (and PC a Bard, nonTutu). Worked well, I just gave everyone a ranged weapon and had Khalid pumped up with AC and boots of speed. Ranged weapons are ridiculsly strong in BG1.

My solution was: loading an old save and playing from there again.

You might not be happy doing this, but you could CLUA in a new Khalid and then use Shadowkeeper and make him identical to the one that you've got.

I think I figured out the WHY now. In cloakwood Wyverns map there is a Hamadryad. It charmed Minsc and Khalid - and I used Graegan's Harp to charm them back. When the charm wears off the charmed critter normally turn hostile. However, that didn't happen when the charms wore of. At least not ...

Shar-teel is a good choice imo. For the general "evil" feel of your party I take it you only want evil characters. Since you limit yourself to 4 chars, you could probably skip having a mage altogether. Like Crenshinibon says, ranged weapons rip most things apart with little problem. Kagain could ...
