Um, you probably already know this, but just in case...

Have you altered the difficulty of the game at all? I know that under "Options" on one of the menus, you can choose to have opponents deal more damage or something.

In some cases, I actually prefer the text to a VO. I get a little sick of hearing "You must gather your party before venturing forth." It was much nicer in Icewind Dale. You simply got a little text reminder... no voice.

Actually, I prefer Trigun, but then again, overt space opera really isn't my bag.

Finally, the game answered my own question for me. He propositioned my mage in the Planar Sphere. Seems the romance does go on... but he moves pretty quick after failing the test.

I've had problems with my CD2 as well, but not as severe. There have been occasions when the game will lock up while changing map areas, and I end up having to restart the computer.

Oddly, this problem with CD2 has also prevented me from doing a full install on my computer, as the disk simply sits ...

I'm not entirely certain about that specific item, but I do know that after you return from the Underdark and get back to Athkatla, Ribald allows you access to more items.

I usually try to 'reveal' only one troll at a time with a single character (hasted, in most cases) then have him chase the character back into the storage room, where my other characters await him. I haven't played all of the character classes (yet!), but yeah, I'd have to go with the Ranger Stronghold, too. Plenty of storage, but not too big, and nice quests. Having a town that appreciates your presence and occasionally leaves you gifts is nice, too.

Hmmm... unfortunately, Anomen seems to be the best of a bad lot, IMO. (Valygar is too driven for my tastes, as is Keldorn. Let us not even speak of the others.) If he were rescripted, he'd be better. Haven't tried him as Chaotic Neutral yet, though. I don't know if that makes a difference.
