This is great!
Troika is one of the few companies right now, IMO that could do the old Gygax(ian) world of Greyhawk justice. I was quite impressed with Troika's Arcanum and can honestly say I'm looking forward to their attempt at translating 1st edition PnP Oerth into a 3rd edition CRPG

Click on the item itself and, if it can hold a charm, a unique window will open with at least one slot into which you can place the charm. If you feel like cheesing the skill a bit, open multiple windows and drop a charm into each one...kinda makes a real easy game far too easy though, so use at ...

Thanks all
Thanks for the comments, folks. I went ahead and bought the game and d/l'd the newest patch. I'll probably get into it a bit over the holiday.
Have a good (from the States) Turkey Day and Happy Gaming...thanks again

Guys (shout out to CJDevito, Fable and Mr. Sleep),
I just got Tribunal (haven't installed it yet and need to reinstall Morrowind), playing through NOLF2, IWD2, Age of Mythology and having a "it must be a sin 'cause it's too much fun!" experience with online Battlefield 1942,but...
...word of mouth ...

Monk/shield bug
Also, unless it's been patched, with the exception of the skill/spell penalties a monk can use a shield and still retain his attacks and abilities normally. So, NO, a shield does not affect the number of attacks a monk gets in NWN...it's a bug.

I now almost always play a character with a few rogue levels. Soloing a Rogue through mods is great fun :) .
I really don't think that it's necessary to push rogue levels beyond 13 though (just personal preference) because, IMO most of the high level rogue abilities just aren't worth having. A ...

Sorry woodrow14, it's been awhile since I've played MW, but I had this link saved in my MW favorites folder:
http://home.austin.rr.com/shakti/morrowind/
I think that there is a list of trainers there (as well as a plug-in that fixed a couple...but that was months ago, so the official MW patches ...

AFAIK, as long as you can perform the required action (ie. cast a certain spell) then it doesn't really matter what the source is. You could cast the spell from a provided wand, from memory, a scroll, etc. and the script should still be triggered.

Not in the standard NWN game.
If you play some of the Hardcore Ruleset (HCR) mods, then yes, torches have a time limit. The good news in HCR is that it sure makes those little "rings of light" a lot more useful

Well, I'm certainly not going to defend NWN's SP game and I've already released what little venom I had toward this game in another thread awhile back.
Let me just say that over the last few weeks I've had an absolute blast playing through user-created mods (downloaded from NW Vault) with a friend ...

I had more luck with my old assassin character, but I did try to play a 'classic' enchanter (light armor, short sword, heavy on the magic skills, etc.). IIRC, the way I dealt with constantly getting my butt kicked was to depend on my summons to take the heat off me. Keep your minion(s) buffed and ...

I find that the most fun class to play, at least on most mods, is some sort of rogue multi-class (currently playing a 1 Ranger/5 Rogue through some solo mods).
If you have some experience in DnD (esp. BG/BG2) the new rules may take some getting used to, but for simplicity's sake assume that the ...

Oops...sorry for the misunderstanding :o
I was referring to your sign, The Atronach, when I mentioned -absorption-. It's part of your birthright (literally). You can absorb a percentage of spells (spell energy/magicka) cast at you. The old 'Summon Ancestral Ghost'...piss 'im off...absorb his ...

Sorry, man..nobody sells a Restore Magicka spell...It's been awhile since I've played Morrowind now, so I don't remember what your Alchemy skill should be to make the Restore Magicka potion, but the ingredients, as Oblivion stated, any two of:
Daedra's Heart , Frost Salts , Void Salts and ...

Sorry, no such animal, unless you make one with the editor (assuming you're playing Morrowind on the PC). You'll just have to settle for restoring magicka the normal (absorption ...

Weapon Finesse is applicable to any bonus that would normally use your STR...it just substitutes DEX in it's place. So AFAIK, your DEX bonus would apply to your offhand weapon just as your STR bonus would.

NWN is pretty good if you ignore the pre-packaged SP campaign and grab a bunch of friends to play some user-created mods in MP. That being said, the game is not nearly as engrossing or enjoyable a SP experience as Morrowind.
Deus Ex has been mentioned and it's very good (it's a long game too, so ...
