What exactly are prestige classes?

Im interested in playing an Elven Rogue with the dual-wielding feats. I've seen that lots of people that want to dual-wield start out as a ranger and then dual to their desired class. Is there anyway to get to the Underdark if you exit with Saemon?

This might sound like a stupid question but, how do I get to the city? I just slew Bodhi (chap. 6) and it's not on my map?

So basically once I finish the Underdark I should head to an outdoor area like the Windspear Hills and rest until she gets kidnapped?

Nope. I just entered Ust Natha. I am like 99% sure I did the Montaron quest back in chapter one...but why aren't I getting any of the other Jaheira/Harper quests then? I also did the curse quest and I bought her the amulet.

I just hit the Underdark and Jaheira still hasn't been called to duty by the Harpers..should I assume it's not going to happen and that my romance is fooked?
