I retrieved the fake root, I even made the Wyvern poison, but I can't make the fake brew. I can't even coerse the guy in the lab to do it. When I talk to him, I get one option, to say, "wait...." and then the conversation ends. What else do I need to do besides put the root on the westernmost table ...

If I engage the golems and then run back out they won't be there the next time I go back?
