1. I am irrevocably bound by the game clock, I try to rest as few times as possible and for as short a time as possible. This is not due to role-playing in any way - to me the game clock is a statistic I can manipulate.

2. I use whatever is most efficient at a given time (spells, npcs, potions) - I ...

Chain of Drakkas' Fury can be found in one of the chests in the guard barracks (the guys you poison) on the top floor of the severed hand. (Chapter 6)

Dwarven Ogre can be purchased from Sheemish (I think, I haven't played in so long) in Kuldahar - if it's not with him, it's with his dad Conlan in ...

In my opinion, the only prizes worth getting in Battle Squares are the Potion of Holy Transference (rank 3, or now that I think about it, maybe rank 2) and the Brilliant Shortsword +5 (rank 10). The former we've already discussed, and the latter is useful because it ignores shield and armor bonuses ...

@Galuf

No offense taken - this is a public forum after all, and discussion is where it's at. Whenever I am done RP-ing a game, I convert to powergaming - which means that dropping Charisma is a given for me. I use Intelligence for fighters only to allow them to use Expertise, that is, if the build ...

the potion of clear purpose does take away two points of constitution, and because of this, it is worthless. no matter which way you look at it, you are losing one stat point.

in contrast, the various potions of transference are invaluable because they technically add one stat point (1 transfer, 1 ...

technically, that technique should work - and actually, i've wanted to try it myself yet i never got around to doing so coz i just kept playing solo and being leveled is more important there.

here's what you can do to test it, since you already have an overflow: with your current set-up, save the ...

A correction to the above post: Weapon Finesse does not affect the damage rolls in any way - what it does is replace the 'to hit' modifier for a small blade with your dexterity bonus.

The manual description for weapon finesse is as follows:
'... use your dexterity modifier instead of your strength ...

just a little bit to add to galuf's post. the ranger does not 'gain' the 2-wield feats that are in the feats list (in other words: they are not marked as if you had put feat points into them), simply because their special ability is applied only when certain conditions are met. if you are in light ...

the best place to amass healing ...

it's always nice to read about someone else's efforts.

first off, i would suggest that you download the patch. without it, you won't have access to the best armor - and you won't have to wait til chapter 5 to get good armor (you get nice ones as early as chapter 3). i knew you didn't have it ...

MCing in 3ed is more intuitive than the previous format - largely due to the fact that now experience levels (or ECL - effective character level) are homogenous for all characters. Whenever you advance in your ECL, you can choose to MC to any class provided you meet the requirements.

For example ...

you find the greatsword of the soulless on most (if not all) slayer knights of xvim in chapter 6 in the severed hand. in fact, you will get so many of these that you'll be quite sick of them. the lower your party level, the less xvimians you'll face, hence the less of these swords you'll get - but ...

- complete one series of any level of battlesquares, and you will receive her key as a reward

- defeat the winter wolves first and then concentrate ...

you have to be a lot clearer than this if you want to get a proper answer. for starters: which chapter are you currently in (2 or 5?) ? what have you accomplished so far? have you tried checking your journal to see what needs to be done?

if you are in chapter 2, you have to describe more clearly ...

you can download the IWD2 manual from the website if you're registered. also, a good deal of the information is in the game itself - open up the character page (on any of your pcs) and click on the 'information' button.

in any case, we can always field your questions right here in the gb forums.
