A correction to the above post: Weapon Finesse does not affect the damage rolls in any way - what it does is replace the 'to hit' modifier for a small blade with your dexterity bonus.

first off, i would suggest that you download the patch. without it, you won't have access to the best armor - and you won't have to wait til chapter 5 to get good armor (you get nice ones as early as chapter 3). i knew you didn't have it ...

MCing in 3ed is more intuitive than the previous format - largely due to the fact that now experience levels (or ECL - effective character level) are homogenous for all characters. Whenever you advance in your ECL, you can choose to MC to any class provided you meet the requirements.
