You arrive at Brynnlaw in Chapter 4 after enlisting the aid of either the Shadow Thieves or Bodhi and Co.

Also... I think regular party member banter is random. Korgan, for example, eventually tells you what happened to his former party. He started the dialogue before I left Trademeet, but because of an unforseen problem I had to reload to an earlier game before his banter -- and when he did it again it ...

Lovetalks are mainly dependant on a timer (like, once every hour), though a few require you to be in a certain location or do a certain thing before they trigger, such as being in an outdoor area or resting.

I never liked Garrick or any bards. IIRC, necromancers can't learn divination spells in BG1, so I never used Xzar for very long (though Montaron is an extremely good character). That shifts me to my next point: Alora. She's kind of redundant. You've got Imoen, who's there at the beginning and makes ...

Bugbears are like buffed up hobgoblins (they even use the same graphic and soundset). They replace the normal groups of goblins in Irenicus' place.

I'm not sure if there's a good tactic to use against them, except bum rushing them so they don't start firing off arrows. Maybe try webbing or greasing ...

What the flunk? Are you sure Improved Illych has all those changes? I can't forsee how a party 4 or 5 who are at most level 9 would ever hope ...

As soon as you get within speaking distance of the Diseased Ones (the people outside of the old temple) dialogue should initiate, then they lead you into the temple. I guess if you did things the 'evil' way, the path would be different though... maybe just drop the rift device before leaving the ...

Heh. :D

When I bought the game I didn't even know about the appearance change, but after Penny Arcade covered it , I started getting interested. I just figured it would be more in line with what Tycho looked like... y'know.. more evil. Like with tatoos and stuff.

But yeah, I can't wait for Fable ...

Appearance changes

So, the 'darker' you are, the more your appearance changes, right? My dark side character has found about 2 starmaps now, is at the darkest he can go, and so far only has what looks like the complexion of cottage cheese. Does he look eviler later on? Does he grow horns or have red glowing eyes or ...

Yeah, my first playthrough I finished in 27 hours, and my second, more in-depth one I finished at 35 (no pazaak though, just can't stand that game). KotOR feels very, very short to me.

I think part of this could be that the items and accessories are very limited and have no real feel or ...

Just run circles around them until your force regenerates enough to heal or throw your lightsaber. They're slow, so they can't catch you.

Quests tend to have levelled monsters, which means different creatures will show depending on what your level is. Higher level = more dangerous creatures. For example, instead of encountering 2 skeleton warriors you'll find a lich.

I agree with ObsidianReturns though, stay to the minor Athkatla ...

Firkraag kidnapping not triggering (spoilers)

I have a couple mods installed, Kellsey (not in the party at this point), and the ease-of-use upgrade, which I think includes the multi-stronghold mod. Anyhow, after talking to Firkraag in the Copper Coronet and getting the quest, I make my way to the Windspear Hills and get taken in by Garren ...

Couple ones I like:

Minsc, when talking to the boy in the Government disctrict:
"I would not trust him farther than I could throw him, even if I could throw him pretty far, and throw him I shall!"

Edwin, when talking with Viconia about something:
"I assure you Viconia, this Thayvian is as red ...
