Late to the party but why not a Half-Orc assassin? They have the possibility of a strength of 19 which really kicks with the 7X backstab multiplier....

I would have to say the Cleric/Ranger for the multi class, they have a fair amount of power with cleric weapons, and they can cast many high level...
