I'm not sure why it is being imported anyway. You would think it would be cheaper and plentiful enough domestically.
It is strange, isn't it. UK exports livestock to abroad, but also imports from other countries, like France, Ireland and Germany.

@Waverly: Politics must be part of it. Also, in UK's case, it may be cheaper import from abroad... This Foot-and-Mouth (Strange name) disease itself seems to have come from South America with imported livestock...

@Minerva: What I find really amazing is how the US avoids these diseases.

If that is the case, better ask other members as well... And also what will happen if someone wants to post there?

You never know... Image

I don't know if you use vaccine to avoid the disease. And also, the US is large country, so it doesn't spread as in UK.

I stopped cleaning. I am too tired to do it right now. I'll check it out tomorrow. We'll see what the best approach is.

Bye bye all, with 2 posts left I am calling it a night.

How can you guys discuss Machiavelli without me *sob* Image

Well not that I know much about medieval Italy or Machiavelli except what I've recently have read.
But according to what I read - Machiavelli has been greatly misused in popular opinion.
He is not diabolic, nor dose he promote a despotic state.
He just look at statesmanship in his time and explained how to act in various situations.
Of course he has stated that torture had it's justification - but should not be used in abundance. Likewise he has stated that you have to get your people to like you if you are to rule successfully.

In his work there are a lot of things that go against what we se as a "democratic" society - but again we have to remember when it was written and to whom it was written.

I must say that I even feel that he made some excellent points that also can be used in the modern society.

Oh well - I'm out of here again Image - see you

I'm glad you got that, Karembeu. Image

You got to know about English football and gossip to fully appreciate that... Image

I don't quite remember about the ad... I see him on TV often, but he is not my favourite, so just slipped away from my mind... Image

Ugh! You do realize you are talking to a Celt, you wanker?

The US has a *huge* percentage of population with Irish ancestry. They imported their church, their customs, their names, etc...all as the result of a potatoe blight. Or perhaps, even more accurately, all because of British oppression.
