The Stan is the trade guildmaster. You can find him in his office in the Guildhall in North Cyan.

The Stan will offer you three tasks. You can do all of the tasks if you'd like (one after the other), but completing any one of them is enough to gain you the trade guild vote. The tasks are described below.


1. Archeologist Quest

This quest takes place in the Ancient Crypt in the Emerald Hills. Alias can escort you there if you like.

The quest involves escorting archeologist Ohio Smith to the planar gate in the crypt. Once you've brought Smith to the gate you'll receive 500 experience, and then once you've returned to The Stan, you'll receive 250 experience, 1000 gold, and a ring of force shield.


2. Cow Quest

This quest takes place in the Kobold Caves in the Emerald Hills. Alias can escort you there if you like.

Basically, all you'll have to do is escort some cows from the back of the caves to the exit. For details on how to do this, see the Kobold Caves section. Once you've saved the cows and returned to The Stan, you should receive 250 experience and 500 gold.


3. Dwarf Quest

This quest takes place in the Duergar Caves in the Emerald Hills. Alias can escort you there if you like.

The quest is pretty straightforward. You're supposed to kill the duergar mage in the caves, and perhaps kill the other duergar in the caves as well. However, the items you can pick up to prove your deeds -- a duergar head and a duergar hammer -- both come from the mage, so the quest is a little odd.

If you give The Stan the duergar head but not the duergar hammer, then you'll receive 250 experience and 500 gold. If you give him both items, then you'll receive 500 experience, 500 gold, and a rune hammer +2.
