BioShock: The Collection Out Now

The remastered versions of BioShock, BioShock 2 and BioShock Infinite are now available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, either separate or as part of the BioShock: The Collection package. On PC, users who owned the original PC ports will be automatically granted the remastered versions as outlined here, otherwise they will have to provide a proof of purchase to the folks at 2K.

Here's the launch trailer:

One of the reasons I was personally looking forward to a remastered version of BioShock and its sequel on PC was the promise of better PC ports, but unfortunately the early reports are a little disappointing in that sense. According to Rock, Paper, Shotgun, the PC port of BioShock Remastered is plagued with bugs and features very few options we've come to expect in PC games and features some rather nasty mouse smoothing.

Thankfully, some fixes are already available, though they require the sort of ini editing that really shouldn't be necessary for such basic features, especially after the original PC port was already criticized for its quality.

Note that BioShock Infinite wasn't remastered on PC because its PC port was already considered good enough by the developers.
