MMORPG.com: Will killing NPCs on these missions give XP towards leveling? If so how will this prevent new players from power leveling?
Tony "Teesquared" Tyson: Yes, killing NPCs during a Chronicles quest will give XP toward leveling. The XP you earn is not controlled by the creator, so it's not exploitable. The NPCs you fight during a Chronicles quests are worth the same XP as you would get fighting them normally. In addition, you gain XP from the Chronicles system by completing a quest, but this is again not controlled directly by the Chronicler, but rather by the difficulty of the relics used to create the quest.
