1 - Chrysis
When you reach this spot in the woods (#1), Chrysis will come running up to you. He'll tell you that his outpost (#1a) needs reinforcements. When you reach the outpost, you'll find it being attacked by several nightstalkers. After you've helped the outpost's soldiers defeat the invaders, Teisias, the leader of the men, will ask you to hunt down the leader of the attackers, and he'll tell you that the leader, a massive elder anteok, was last seen in a den near the waterfall (#1b). After killing the anteok, when you return to Teisias, you'll receive a random piece of armor and 30,000 experience points.
2 - Gatekeepers
The gatekeepers are plant creatures, and you'll have to kill them to gain access to Medea's Grove.
3 - Medea
Medea will agree to help you reach the underworld (where Tiresias directed you to go) -- provided that you fetch for her the single eye of the Grey Sisters. You'll find the Grey Sisters in the
Tsakonian Ruins.
Talking to Medea the first time will complete the initial main quest "A Mysterious Message" and trigger the second main quest "Medea's Price." It will also net you 18,000 experience points. Then once you've delivered the
Eye of the Grey Ones to Medea, she'll create a portal (Exit C) that will take you to
Epirus. Completing Medea's quest will also net you a random scroll and 30,000 experience points, and it will trigger the third main quest "The Road to Hades."
"Be fleet of foot and strong of heart and you may yet save us all."
Note: Medea was a figure in Greek mythology. She married Jason (of Argonauts fame) and killed a bunch of people, including her own brother. You can learn more about Medea by clicking
here, or by talking to Alope (#7).
4 - Semele
Semele will trigger the side quest "The Stolen Sigil." She'll tell you that some formicids stole the
Sigil of the First Apoktisis from her, and she'll ask you to get it back. You'll find the formicids -- and Ycht'ssk'l, their queen -- in the
Ampelian Caves. Defeating the formicids and returning the sigil to Semele will earn you a random staff and 30,000 experience points.
5 - Lampido
Lampido will trigger the side quest "Lampido's Potion." She'll tell you that she can make a potion that will "give anyone remarkable powers," assuming, of course, that you can find a few simple ingredients for her. All three ingredients --
Aestivus Root,
Cybe Mushroom and
Nightblossom Petal -- can be found in
Soronis. When you deliver the items to Lampido, she'll reward you with a sample of the potion, which will grant you +6 strength and +80 health.
6 - Procne
Procne will update the side quest "An Impossible Task." She'll tell you that in order for Medea to cure Maera's child, you'll need to acquire the
Tome of the Liche Queen Kallixenia. Procne will give you a
Waking Stone, which she'll tell you to use on an altar in the
Tsakonian Ruins. The stone will summon Kallixenia for you, but you'll need to take the tome from her by force.
When you give the tome to Procne, she'll reward you with a
Curative Elixir and a random arcane formula. Then
when you deliver the elixir to Maera in
Rhodes, you'll earn an additional 35,000 experience points.
7 - Alope
Alope is a storyteller. She'll give you a short biography of Medea (#3).
8 - Carme
Carme will trigger the side quest "The Wealth of Ancient Kings." She'll tell you about the once great city of Propontis, and how there is still an ancient treasure hidden there. As you might expect, getting to the treasure won't be easy. First, you'll have to enter the Tomb of Tsakonian Queens in
Soronis and pick up the
Ancient Moon Key. Then you'll need to delve into the Great Tomb of Aegimius in the
Tsakonian Ruins and find the
Ancient Sun Key. Finally, you'll need to enter the
Great Tomb of Dorus.
There you'll encounter the undead King Dorus, and, after defeating him and using the keys,
you'll find a treasure room containing half a dozen chests, including a majestic chest.
Entering the treasure room will also complete the side quest and earn you 40,000 experience
points.
