Did we miss anything during this quest? Is there something we didn't discover? Let us know!
This quest first becomes available after the Rookridge bridge is repaired at the conclusion of the
A Bridge Too Far quest. On the south side of Rookridge, you'll discover a wooden bridge leading to a grassy peak with a statue of a noble-looking man using a spyglass. Next to the statue is the ghost of a man or woman, the gender of which depends on your own (it's always opposite).
The ghost explains that he or she has been aimlessly wandering Albion looking for peace. In life, they were going to marry someone named Alex (a unisex name so that it fits for either a male or female ghost), but they were rejected at the last minute. Unable to bear the rejection, he or she committed suicide and that's why they're now speaking to you as a ghost.
So what exactly does the ghost want? Revenge, of course. You're to go to Bowerstone Market and make Alex fall in love with you, and then give him or her the same
Rejection Note that they gave their now-dead fiancee. To help you in this endeavor, the ghost also gives you two books -
Wedding Bells and
The Art of Seduction. The former contains a set of tips for convincing someone to marry, while the latter teaches you the Seduction expression.
You'll find Alex hanging out in town square. He or she seems bummed out, but start performing expressions anyway until they're ready to marry you. At this point, Alex will tell you about their former love and how he or she got scared because they were so young to get married. Alex obviously feels quite guilty for his or her actions, so you have a choice to make - either give them the note or destroy the note and marry them anyway (you'll need a ring and a place to live to actually get hitched). Handing over the note is obviously the nefarious choice, while destroying the note and helping Alex find love again is the righteous choice.
Once you've either stomped all over Alex's heart or ushered him/her to the altar, you can return to the ghost to report your success. Despite their previous anger, the ghost will actually be happier if you decided to marry Alex. Either way, you'll earn 100 renown points for a successful completion.
