Hmm... So the actions of the government (in particular war) can positively influence the protein intake of their subjects? Sounds obvious to me.

@Malta: Fable can correct me if my assumption is wrong, what I see here is that the "high-protein intake" (eating largely food from the sea) influenced the political structure of the said area. The feudal system was built on the concept that he who owns more land, gets more power. Since agriculture ...

About my processors, It's only 986 MHz, my friend said that was a huge problem, so I'm thinking about upgrading that first, any thought?

I don't know what that number stands for, but it's not your processor speed. The AMD Athlon 64 3800+ is clocked at 2.4 GHz and has a 939 socket.
Can you give a ...

You might want to check out this page , which details all the female bishops in the Methodist, Anglican, Presbyterian, Presbyterian, and Lutheran/Evangelical churches. That's 23 from the Methodists. It's also a bit dated--since that list appeared, the first L/E female bishop from the US was ...

The key is "Northwestern Europe." This is a reflection upon an area with a notably high level of protein intake at a time when they enjoyed a largely non-feudal structure, unlike most of the rest of Europe. I see them as an exception, not the norm, and significantly, Steckel does not mention the ...

I think the minimum upgrade would be to buy a decent graphics card. Right now you seem to be using an on-board chip, and that is slowing you down. I think that if you bought something like a 7900GT(X) or a 7600GT (if you're low on budget), you'd have no problems playing those games. However, to ...

@fable: Indeed, the average stature of an adult 600 years ago was rather short by our standards today. The average lifespan was much more brief as well. I suppose the age of 50 was ancient beyond measure during Middle Age Europe.

No.

The foundation

The foundation of human rights

Nowadays the existence and validity of human rights is widely accepted (which is visible in e.g. the Universal Declaration of Human Rights). However, I never hear someone mention a reason to do so, why there are such things as human rights, what it is that gives ...

AFAIK the KNMI indeed requires a weather condition to hold on for three days until it counts.

I find the sheer size of that house to be shocking  Really. It's about as big as (or even bigger than) my house, where we live with 10 students, and that's considered spacious according to Leiden student standards. And that couple is living there alone, right?

Another intersting mistake that a lot of people make, including Anglicans, is thinking that the Anglican church is protestant. It isn't, it's a catholic church, a fact that is reinforced every time an Anglican recites the Nicene creed, which ends:

We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic ...

I'm under the impression that the current US security measures cost way more than the damage possible terrorist attacks would cause (that is including human lives, the value of which also is being calculated in money). Is that true?
