my 2 cents: despite the quite "pessimistic" tone in this topic, the majority of posts in here are still at least twice as long as the internet standard, and most of them are from people that have been members for 5+ years (which, again by internet standards, is kind of comparable to the age of the ...

Great, I haven't tested it ingame yet but I can indeed see the "Wizard's..." notation next to one of the copies of each spell. Thanks for your help!

SK and adding spells

I'm trying to use SK to add certain spells to one of my characters but in the spell list there's sometimes multiple listings for the same spell... eg Blindness is listed 3 times, Magic Missile a whopping 5. All the descriptions are identical. Is there any functional difference between any of these ...

Weapon styles

Does anyone know what the advantages are of placing points in one of the various weapon styles? There's no table in the manual and googling hasn't turned up anything so far..

FWIW I decided to go with a human Generic Archer (Fighter kit from Tactics), Safana, Xzar, Monty, Viconia and Shar-Teel. Installing TuTu plus a big bunch of mods took about 2 hours, fingers crossed for a stable game and here I go :)

He's an Ogre Mage right? Try an arrow of slaying from the Sorcerous Sundries store in BG.

Or else let him waste his spells on summons while you pelt him with non-magical arrows/bolts/stones, then move in with melee characters once his mirror image and stoneskin etc are gone.

Lucid dreaming

Something strange has been happening to me lately, my gf has to wake up at 6 to go to her job so I wake up with her to brew her some coffee etc and then go back to bed when she leaves. Now every couple of days, instead of just falling asleep I go straight from being awake to being in some kind of ...

the main question here is whether you want a prebuild system or one that you buy the components for and assemble yourself. I think you prefer the first option but I might be wrong. If you do want to assemble it yourself I can give some good recommendations.

For now I'd just recommend you to browse ...

Evil party, player character, SCS woes

I'm trying to assemble a good party for my first ever BG series evil playthrough but have a bit of trouble because I'm planning to play with mods that I have never used before (TuTu & SCS).

For now the idea is that I'll play a combat oriented character that I'll dual to a mage once he/she reaches ...

dual class wild mage?

Hi,

I recently decided to give BG2 another try (it's been like 5 years now) and I've read a lot of things about both the Kensai/Mage and the Wild Mage, how they're strong, interesting, funny etc. However, since I only have time for one playthrough, I was wondering whether it'd be possible to ...

I guess I´m here to defend us tight clothes wearers :) Honestly, I really can´t stand baggy or wide stuff. It makes me feel quite ridiculous, it´s heavy, and when there´s a lot of wind you look like a sailing boat gone wild. For that matter, I like the lycra that Levi´s puts into some of their men´s ...

Hi Moltovir, nice to see you! :) Unfortunetely I have no time for D2 anymore, I don't even have time for FM. I've both got a baby, a new student and some new projects at work. Work is going fine, I've recently accepted a position as guest researcher at a leading US lab, which is why I enquired ...

Aaaaaah yes, the infantile pleasure of hearing a commentator say "Kaka on the ball!" :D :D

(if you're a dutch, french or spanish speaker that is. Sadly you tommies and yankees are excluded from the great childish fun of a friday night with some friends, sixpacks and a game with Kaka)

I solved my XP problems by copying the entire Fallout CD to my hard drive, then activating Win 95 compatibility on every exe file before installing, and again using Win 95 mode on every exe in the installed game folder.

FCOM and franOOOMMM

I've been thinking of reinstalling the game to try to play it longer than an hour without dying of frustration or boredom, by using Oscuro's, Fransesco's and Martigen's respective mod, with a "compatiblizer" like FCOM or franOOOMMM. But I'd like to have some other people's opinion about these mods ...

It's necessary in order to be strong, yes, but it's not necessary if you just want to play the game at a reasonable, realistic pace instead of chopping everything up when you see it. Every character will get suitably powerful after a while anyway. Also, if you want to get rid of the stat maxing ...
