To my knowledge there are no spells higher than 9th level in 2nd edition. 3ed has Epic levels, that would be any character that reaches 21 level and higher. There are epic level spells that go along with that, but they aren't catagorized as 10th 11th and so on (I don't think anyway)
Sorry bro, that ...

We had a player who's character was very fond of his "Big Knife." Now before you get dirty, the big knife was a dagger. As a prop he had one of those old rulers with the metal strip at the top. No one was alowed to touch the "Big Knife." Once someone did touch it and the player beat him with the ...

Absolutly 3ed. That was the whole goal of the release, making it easier for the newcommers. I loved 2ed but with the multitude of books there was alot of contradictions and rule changes. I don't know how your group is but with our's, this lead to alot of time spent on arguing rules. That kind of ...

Deathlich: Just by reading alot of your posts, you seem to be sort of stuck on the rules of the game. (And please, I'm make this post with no malice, only a hope of making the game more enjoyable for you and your players) The three main books (Players Handbook, Dm's Guide and the Monsters Manual ...

My Dm's tended to be a little more devious. You'd never hurt yourself or break a weapon. If he wanted to be nice you'd end up losing your weapon to your opponent. If he was in a foul mood you'd hit one of your companions. We roll played well and played mostly CN characters. A simple Criticle miss ...

[QUOTE=Xandax]I know - but nobody forces you to read and reply to questions. So you could just ignore the questions that annoy you :) (easier said then done at times I know that).

DR: Mostly I'm just trying to point out that your question is pretty much covered in the player's handbook. D&D is a game where you REALLY need to read the rules. You say you have "a rulebook." Which one??? What's it called. If it's not one of the basic three stated in my previous post (Heck, for ...

I'm not trying to be a D**K here but, read the "Wizard" description in the player's hand book. If you don't have one, someone in your group should. If no one does then WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING PLAYING D&D?!?!
I'll give you the fact that there are a multitude of books for the game and starting ...

I'm constantly rolling a D20 while I DM. Also I have a list of all the player's skills and other attributes. Before a character meets with an NPC who I know is going to lie to him, I roll a sense motive check for the character. If he gets a DC 15 + I'll tell the character outright that he knows the ...
