In one game my reputation dropped to 1 (I attacked the black lotus smuggler in the city gates, and ended up having the whole area go hostile). Eventually, I got attacked by cowled wizards/knights. I remember this fight as really hard. The knights all had names and hit for a ton of damage (insane ...

Props to ranger/clerics. These characters are incredibly fun to play. I'm dual wielding the mace of disruption and a +3 club right now, combine those with a casting of creeping doom and cruise thru most fights. Awesome.

I'm curious if you guys have your clerics memorize alot of healing spells. I'm soloing a ranger/cleric right now, and though he's alot different than your normal clerics, I hardly use any healing spells. I'd much rather bulk up on Draw on Holy Might, or Holy Power type spells than healing spells. Of ...

Look for spells with good long run potential or spells that give 2 good affects. Also, keep in mind that some solo sorc's whose posts you've read -- me for one -- may have done it with the XP cap removed. It sounds like you haven't done that, and that will, obviously, makes a huge difference ...

Who nominated Cernd? Remember, this is the guy that loved his wife so much that he leaves her and doesn't even find out that he has a son until you come along. Funny how no one said Keldorn either.

Well, without reflecting cloak or shield, any one of those Orbs can be tough. But you're right, Elder Orbs are the toughest, especially because of imprisonment. I think Elder Orbs are 100% resistant to magic too, but Directors have higher resistance to fire and other things ... Anyway, I dunno, just ...

Well, for what it's worth, it isn't Shadowkeeper either. I retarted the character and haven't touched Shadowkeeper, but just now, after a quicksave reload, my stealth rating mysteriously dropped 55 points again. Very annoying.

How about a hoard of Lesser Demon Lords, or instead of Elder Orbs, some Directors.

Need help with Shadowkeeper edit

Alright, this is wierd. I started a new character, a Stalker, in hopes of dualing him over to a Cleric around level 11 or 12. Amazingly, on the first roll I managed to land the following stats:

Str 14, Dex 16, Con 14, Int 14, Wis 18, Chr 13

This roll, of course, won't let me dual to Cleric ...

Interesting revision ... I was just mulling it over a bit, and thought I'd post a couple thoughts... I think you are better off going without Simulacrum ... I also like Pierce Shield instead.

But, if you do add Pierce Shield, I think you'll be going a bit overload with the following spells ...

Specialists can't cast spells from opposite schools right? If so, my vote goes for an abjurer just because they can't cast stoneskin (Alteration).

When I mess around with my lvl 20 sorcerer, I cast Project Image, then have the image cast Wizard Eye. After that, it is a simple matter of scouting and either dropping a few Wilting Spells, or as you say raise numerous undead. Moving about like with Simulacrum isn't that handy for me ... I just sit ...

They are used in the aforementioned house to trigger a good battle with just reward. If you have the arms and torso you are all set.

I have to question your choice of both Project Image and Simulacrum. You say that Simulacrum is unaffected by True Sight -- is this true? To the best of my knowledge this is incorrect. As far as I can tell, the only advantage Simulacrum has over Project Image is that the Simulacrum can make physical ...

Unfortunately I can't answer what level is became effective. This is because I boosted it to 80-100 fairly early. Of course it took me awhile to realize I had to click on the Find Traps button to get it to work. Since you're going to go with a pure thief you'll probably want to boost this after you ...

Just a thought on swash/mage ... I ignored hide in shadows and used invisibility spells instead. This allowed me to boost skills like Detect Illusion along with the standard Open Locks or Find Traps. With a high level of Detect Illusion, I never had to memorize True Sight. If an enemy disappeared ...

I also vote for swashbuckler. I keep reading lots on dual classing swashbucker to cleric, but I enjoyed the swash/mage combo quite a bit. I guess the whole image of a swashbuckler as a mace wielding cleric loses me. Also, I was disappointed in bounty hunters. Yes, the traps are a godsend early on ...

I don't understand how you can say you wouldn't play it again. I must be addicted. I usually play the game with different characters, and then create special save games at certain battles so I can replay the fight and try different techniques, or just gate in a couple demons to fight. Not to mention ...
