I would also recommend gothic... start with gothic 1, even if it's a bit out of date, because many of the characters in gothic 2 are also in gothic 1... After that play the second part, including the "night of the raven" add-on..
The feeling is great, the story very nice, cool(ish) graphics and ...

vigilante
This one doesn't really strike me so much as a bug as a nice slice of realism...after all, cops don't appreciate self-defense or vigilante justice, it threatens their job security :D
Well... they don't like it... If you happen to watch the news, they ...
P.S.: Where could I find the stake? I already finished the game and I´m replaying now with a malkavian, but I can´t find that bloodie stake (and, btw, I can´t get the Thini blood quest)
I think you'll find a stake at the Santa monica peer, near the wooden stairs that get you ...

Presence rules!

Remember "VTM: Redemption"? I think in that game the last level in Presence used to be called Majesty :)
I enjoy a mellee style of play, (although I have to recognize I used stealth kills as often as I could) so Presence was a major boost, especially against larger packs of ...

I'll say Jack

Because he always had an insight on things... He was always present at the right time and he's the one that connects you with Caine. If you've finished the game annarchs way, you'll see jack glad that things worked accordingly to the plan, next to the mummy of messerach and in the ...

flesh eating monster

remember miska (that was her name?)... where does her race fit into the universe... More savage than the vampires, hunted by the kindred as an abomination they seem very powerfull, although you don't get the chance to fight her (at least not in my solving of the game) to see ...

My favorite part was in that BMP studio... I entered the room and that tzimice creation blasting off the door caught me off guard... The volume was very high, it was around 3-4 AM and when the door fell, I got scared and jumpy...
Best area for me, although the Ocean House Hotel was also nice... and ...

beckett, again... (possible minor spoiler)

At the end of the society for preservation of professors, after talking to LaCroix, you can talk with beckett and if you persuade him to tell more about himself you'll be awarded a point of experience... not much, but better than nothing :)

I finished the game as Ventrue, with 5 presence and 5 celerity :) I only had to use both disciples against the bosses. And that doulbe speed katana makes things more simple...
I only had problems killing the Kuei Jin princess, because I tried to use ranged weapons... Once I switched back to the ...

Gothic is great
If you're looking for other not terribly linear first person RPGs, consider the Gothic series (though I can't abide the combat)...
Gothic series is one of the best RPG ever... non-linear and an interesting leveling system. I find the battle system quite nice ...
