Thanks for the detailed explanation Elevoros. I experienced this bug, and unfortunately I didn't have a previous save. I decided to continue the game nevertheless, but it left a bitter taste in my mouth.

I hadn't really thought about this, but now that you mention it here is my list.

Loghain -> Sarevok
Big 2H warrior types, both start evil but can end up joining you

Morrigan -> Viconia
Evil and beautiful. Nuff said.

Oghren -> Korgan
Ale drinking berserker dwarves. Wouldn't want to be on the ...

I defeated him with Alistair using sword and shield at level 18. I had tried using a 2H sword, but since Alistair is shield specced it wasn't working out. I used around 5 health pots.

Yeah, I just started playing again. Got a 46 level Paladin on US East. Having a blast so far. Been lucky to find some nice items too :-)

Good thread.

Contrary to what most people are saying here, I found soloing a mage incredibly easy. It all depends on how you play it. My main spells were:

Blind
Mirrored Image
Dire Charm

Any blinded enemy is a dead enemy, as they just stand there and you can pelt them with bullets. I usually ...

Glad to hear someone else is enjoying the game

I've had mine for about a year, but didn't start playing it until a couple of months ago (too many other games on my shelf). I'm having a blast with it. Honestly, I didn't expect much since a lot of people were bashing it on the forums, but I'm glad I ...

It's been a while, but I think it's just a short sword +3. Not bad, since there aren't too many +3 weapons at that stage in the game when you find it.

You can always view an item's magical/special properties by opening the inventory and "examining" the item. Use right-click on the item and it ...

Yes, shadows are undead and can be turned.

There is a good Pool of Radiance guide at the GameFAQs. The first section contains general strategy and the second part is a walkthrough.

You can't directly link to the FAQ, but go to:

http://www.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin

and look under "P" for ...

Soloing definitely sounds fun. The problem is getting past the first few battles, because your character will still be very weak. I tried it with my paladin and he always got creamed by 5 or 6 orcs shortly after entering the Main Halls.

I may revisit this after I finish the game with my dynamic duo ...

I personally prefer Wizards, mainly because of their versatility in the total number of spells known.

Wizards are superior if you have an idea of what kinds of enemies you will be facing. This allows you to prepare the right kinds of spells for devastating effects, but it requires foresight and ...

Actually there is another way to fix the sequencer problem, even if you don't have a previous save.

Have someone in your party kill Edwin (Korgan was more than willing to do this for me), and then have your cleric resurrect him. Voila, the sequencer is back to normal.

An unusual solution, but it ...

So far i'm loving this game. I know a lot of people complain about the turn based system, but I like it much better than the realtime combat in BG2. I ended up having to pause a lot in BG2 when the battles got hectic, in PoR the game gives you time to make your best move. Each battle feels like a ...

I was able to kill him with about 5 spike traps. Just set them outside of his field of view and then lead him there. He'll drop dead with a big thump. Don't know about using regular snares though.

Good luck and have fun. I still think Durlag's Tower is the best darn dungeon in the whole BG series. Watcher's Keep is also a lot of fun, but Durlag's is spookier and better done IMO.

I recommend starting over. There are a lot of goodies in the chests plus a rogue is also needed for finding secret doors. Or alternatively you could dual one of your existing characters to rogue when he/she levels.
