The major problem I have is the mapping. Vaults in particular are multi leveled and it can be tough trying to figure your way through them at times.
Ugh. Trying to navigate the 3-dimensional mazes in vaults & multi-story buildings using a 2-dimensional map can be a serious pain. On a related note ...

The new one should be in better condition. Can't remember if FO3 worked this way or not, but in NV a weapon will do the same damage as long as it's above a certain condition threshold, so if your repair skill was already pretty high when you made the first one, the new one might not do any more ...

IMHO, in RPG games the success or failure of a character's actions should be dependent on the skills of that character, not the twitching ability of the player.

I agree, and I've been thinking about why I dislike some aspects of hybrid action/RPG games and enjoy others, and it's all about ...

I can't compare NV to FO1 because I've only played FO3 and NV. There's a bit of debate about what genre they belong to (RPG with some action elements, or FPS with some RPG elements) because they combine some characteristics of both.

Anyway, I liked both but enjoyed NV more. It seemed like most of ...

When does silent running become available Belthan?

I believe the prerequisites are 12th level, AGL >= 6 and Sneak skill >= 50.

The levelling in this game so far hasn't seemed to be as all encompassing as it was in Oblivion, although it seems to be extremely easy to find yourself out of your ...

First impressions are that as I expected from Bethesda the game is a first person shooter, not an RPG.

Pretty much, although if you use VATS it does shift a bit of the emphasis from the player's button-mashing skills to the character's relevant attributes & weapon skill.

A typical example is ...

Definitely need to have Tali, Garrus, Grunt & Legion back. Kind of hoping for a ME3 "Thane goes out with a bang" moment that his terminal illness seemed to foreshadow in ME2. Mordin is hilarious but not a great squad member; he should at least be on board with Joker, Chakwas & Chambers.Wouldn't ...

"Saving the day" is relative. Sure, when most people say "live free or die" they tend to focus on the "live free" part. But when you look at what the Protheans were vs. what the Collectors are, the "die" part certainly isn't the worst possible ending. Just summarizing a few ideas from throughout the ...

Again, I hope you're wrong about ME3, but it truly is sad how many times I've seen an acclaimed franchise get watered down in an attempt to appeal to a broader audience, and end up driven into the ground instead. Why don't they learn it alienates hardcore fans and critics, but the mass market ...

Oooo, options. That would mean a non-corridor shooter approach, and that'll never happen...unfortunately.

Why you ask? Because, the corridor shooter layout allows marginal players that EAware wants to cater to, who never want to put thought into their play, to play effectively. If they made things ...

Belthan mentioned Tali's loyalty mission, the last fight of the mission, as tough.

I assume its the one with Geth prime and two lesser ones...

Actually, I meant the colossus at the end of the mission when you first recruit Tali. No problem getting there, but it took me a while to find the right ...

My theory on the endgame: the Reapers are quasi-good guys. They've been going all Nietzsche on sentient life every 50K years in an attempt to develop a species that will be able quell the really, really bad thing they know is coming. Shepard has decide whether to betray everything he fought so hard ...

Oh yeah, I definitely agree too easy breaks the mood as bad or worse than too hard. Facing impossible odds to save the galaxy loses its impact if it feels like I could do it in my sleep. I don't mind replaying a failed mission because I missed something or made bad decisions, I just get a little ...

Cool glitch

I did this on the 360 with the latest patch, not sure if it works on PC or PS3. Just as you start down the hill into Crescent Canyon West, you can walk up the rocks on the south side of the canyon. Go south and you can get completely out of the map. There aren't any plants or animals, so it's a safe ...

I agree with just about everything you said.

Definitely agree Tali & Garrus should be back, and that decisions from the 1st two games should carry over and impact the story in ME3. Maybe goes without saying, but the Illusive Man should be on the list of non-joinable NPCs who should be back.

I ...

I'm partial to Bloatfly Sliders, particularly at low level. The survival skill requirement is low (20), the ingredients (bloatfly meat and prickly pear fruit) are fairly easy to come by, and they help both dehydration and starvation.

I never heard of the seal disappearing completely, although I have heard some people say that it can get knocked off the desk. Supposedly most common if you cast area effect spells in the room, although it could probably get moved by walking on the desk or melee combat nearby. There's a mission in ...
