Sharwyn's dying a lot ...

Sharwyn's dying a lot (I'm just exploring, chap 1). But I can just pick her up at temple and she's okay, right?

I tell her to guard me but she likes to charge at a mob of baddies and get hit a lot. I wish she wouldn't do that!

I like when she's not attacked, standing ...

I'm going to take WEEKS to play my first OC game but I can't help thinking: what next. Other FRPG games I've played, you naturally play that game over and over trying really different character or party builds. Eventually when there are some, you try mods.

Guiding Sharwyn OK

I'm having a good experience, Sharwyn as my Hench. I tell her to guard me, and she has her bow ready. She fights when attacked. Her spells and music have been good. Now I'm jsut beginning my first OC game (third level Monk, 16 AC), but I like how our battles work.

Starting to get it ...

Ookaze, I realized last night what it means to watch combat. I've come a little way, because what I did for my first combat attempts was to click madly on my target over and over. But today I think combat will be great to watch when I know what to look for.

Just starting ...

OOkaze, I'm just starting my first NWN game. I did city core and went to Penninsula with Sharwyn. My monk's built like that Monk faq says, and I'm very hard to hit, except that a Penninsula gang boss stabbed us easy. Combat has been easy or pretty easy so far. No Gulnan yet.

I've played a bunch of these great frpg games and sometimes I'd like to compare them a little in my forum posts. Am I allowed to mention other games? I don't intend to trash them or try to persuade people that one's actually better than another.

I discovered that change weapon option when I talked to Sharwyn last night. I hope she gets extra arrows when she rests....

Printing my character?

Would there be some utitlity program to print out my saved character so I can make records of progress? That would be nice.

Actually I think I need to be okay with that fighting pace. And I hope I don't have LOONG fights later, since each round takes so long.

I've just stopped playing another game where adventuring carefully to find almost everything makes that game ...

Right now my henchplayer's that uppity Sharwyn. A FAQ said I should tell her to use her missile weapon. (She's carrying a sword I think.) Sorry, I couldn't figure out to tell to switch to a bow. And do I actually need to feed her arrrows?

I came to NWN after many other RPG games and don't know why but I love all that combat. Games I'm used to, you either carefully plan each stroke or else you cut and parry, realtime, and your pulse goes way up.

NWN seems very different to me. I think I point my character at an enemy and then sit ...

"Save Character" with original NWN???

Mr. Sir I believe there's never any actual reason to "save character" while playing original NWN (unless I was testing my own DM mod?) Am I right maybe?

So maybe I'm okay now ...

I've found a vertical cam angle I kinda like, and I can at least switch to one other cam way overhead using numpad-asterisk.

Anyone following my thread here, I advice playing with how much camera's above you till you're happpy.

Camera ANGLE!?

Mr_Sir, I'm with you on camera choice. I think maybe camera ANGLE counts most, so I'm pretty comfy when I get that right for each scene.

I'm changing zoom all the time ....

I change zoom a lot. I feel I'm fiddling with camera too much, maybe because I cannt find a comfortabble setting.

After patching, do I restart my game?

I'm playing prelude. After I install that patch to fi whatever files weren't upgraded, do you advise I start my game over??? I'm actually worried things might go wrong later.

I have to get used to seeing NWN through those camera views, and all of them are not what I'm used to from Morrowind, Arcanum, Gothic 2, DS 2. (Apologies in case I wasn't supposed to mention those games in Forum, by the way.) I'm trying all three views and my main feeling is claustrophobia. I feel ...

So I bought that Diamond version of NWN, which means I actually installed: Neverwinter Nights, Shadows of Undrentide, Hordes of the Underdark, Neverwinter Nights Kingmaker , ShadowGuard, and Witch's Wake Remastered.

I think I will take approximately forever to play all of them so I will be happy ...

Hey I had a strange experience installing that Diamond version of NWN. I installed everything including kingmaker. Then right away I started NWN and did UPDATE.

Now UPDATE worked for actually quite a while and said patch aborted because wrong verison of file. So I rebooted my PC and started NWN ...
