Got a suggestion for a dialogue fix for 3.7. When Knox gives his 'asian vampire' quest, you can persuade him to tell you where to buy weapons, in an exchange that goes something like this:

PC: Hey, know where I can get a gun around here?
Knox: As a matter of fact, I can!

For Knox's reply to make ...

I'd still wonder why it's in the Hallowbrook and nobody's using it. If it belongs to Andrei, why doesn't he wield it? Is his warform that much more powerful? Does he view the blade only as an heirloom or a ceremonial item? There are probably ways to justify it.

Having it in the Fu Syndicate could ...

I suspect that the ardent purists still won't be satisfied by what you're proposing, Wesp. The respawning issue alone would probably be a deal-breaker for many people.

Personally, I like the majority of your changes, and I'd rather use the full patch than the BASIC version you're envisioning. But I ...

Oh man, thank you for posting that. You just saved me the xp cost of Protean 5 and probably several hours of confusion and frustration about not frenzying. Looks like I'll pick up another couple levels of Fortitude instead.

Interesting!

I'm playing a gangrel now for the first time, and I wasn't expecting much from protean, but it's been a pleasant surprise. I just cleared the warrens with my claws, and didn't die once, even to the big fleshcrafted monstrosities.

I think the key to making protean effective for me has ...

I'd recommend melee for a tremere, since you have excellent ranged disciplines.

Install the official patch before the unofficial, yes.

Bloodlines Skill Boosters by Skill:
Stealth 1 or 2 (R: 2) [Apartment across from yours, Santa Monica]

Dodge 1 or 2 (R: 2) [Candle Room, Grout's Mansion]
Dodge 5 ...

Tricky makes good points. I can only add that I found celerity to be ridiculously effective with firearms, much more so than with melee weapons. If you can meet the skill requirement of the desert eagle or the steyr aug, and you have high-level celerity, you've basically got access to god mode ...

I was wondering about those as well. Except mine are like so:

cl_upspeed "320"
cl_forwardspeed " 400 "
cl_backspeed " 400 "

I didn't change those values. Maybe that's something the unofficial patch modifies? I don't have the game installed at the moment, so I can't experiment.

Uses for the super jump

On my last play-through, I use the config file edit to give myself a super jump. I was surprised at how much it added to the game. I was also playing a clan with celerity for the first time, so between the extra speed and the jump boost, I finally felt like I could do all those cool vampire feats ...

Also, you can intimidate him into giving you continued service by saying something like "Gotta get blood somewhere. Maybe I'll try ghoul blood." So your character seems to think he's a ghoul, at least.

Thanks for posting the dialogue, by the way. I'd never seen it before and probably never would ...

I came out of a cab swinging one time as well. Actually, I wasn't swinging so much as firing a handgun - I guess that was the weapon I'd been using last. Fortunately I didn't hit anyone, just scared some civilians. I hadn't been in a fight either.

I wonder if it was because I accidentally left ...

Interesting! I've looked around after the fight a couple of times, and I don't remember seeing anything that could dispose of a colossal hammerhead, but I'll take a closer look the next time I'm there.

I guess this means no fancy katana for me this time around (I use the unofficial patch). That's ...

One of the news reports said it would be enough for three mcveigh-sized truck bombs. Also, they were apparently 'inspired by al-qaeda', and al-qaeda likes to commit multiple simultaneous attacks.

So, perhaps they were planning to hit three different buildings in rapid succession?

I'd say whale:mouse. I think they evolved at roughly the same time (very roughly, since we're talking in terms of tens of millions of years) from a common precursor. One became a dedicated land creature, while the other eventually returned to the sea.

Likewise, I think frogs and dinosaurs evolved ...
