here is how alchemy works as i've noticed.
you kill 5 wolves or 5 rats for example and they leave behind 5 wolf manes or 5 rat tails on the ground

by version, I mean did you patch it straight from the 1.0 version of the game which is retail version unless you have the collector's edition which is version 1.5

I'd raise scout as high as you can for it supposedly determines your mapping skill as well as your ability to locate hidden switches and levers etc.

english titles might be either battle mage as kathycf said but red hat sounds to me like it might be sorceror as well. and witchmaster might be enchentress or War Witch from the Sisterhood sub guild.

Scottg: in Skulldoon there is a npc who will lend out an item called the Thundering hammer to anybody who is a demigoth as in wylvan, thrall, urgoth, or zaur, because any others are too scrawny or so he says.
