At the Welcome Wench, there is a book on the innkeeper's (can't remember his name right now) bench. Click on that and the character selection screen comes up. Just deselect the characters you wish to dispose of. This 'register' can also be used to add pc's to your party. Npc's, can be told to leave ...

not immune, exactly. They have damage reduction 5 or 10 I believe with respect to non-slashing weapons. This means that your bludgeoning damage is simply being reduced to 0 or less. I'm not sure, but piercing weapons (such as arrows and bolts) also bypass this reduction.

Don't give up hope, you two. Sometimes you have to go thru' the process a couple-or-three times to get it cleanly done. ToEE is a picky mistress, with great rewards for patience. Good-luck & good gaming.

read magic will i.d. your potions without the 100 gp it takes to cast identify. As far as the magic items, they are all described in the protos.tab file. It can be opened with notepad, but be careful if you try to change any info in there.

For good ol' fashioned turn-based gaming, my suggestion is "Temple of Elemental Evil". It's rather buggy, but there are a couple official patches and a host of fan-fixes and mods. The mods offer a lot of enhacement left out in the original release, plus a few extras from the twisted minds at Co8 ...

I bough the D&D pack with ToEE in it and I can't see anywhere the version of the game. So I don't know the compatiblity with mods. For example I tried ToC8 3.04 and got very fast a nasty bug, when firing a spell allowing multiple target I got something like 500+ target instead of 2 or 3.
Ah yes ...

I'll add a bad point, dam the final can comes very soon without to have really explored and unset a lot of things. It's not a good design. My chars was level 6 but this final could have occurs at level 5, and lower level clearly possible. Ha well if I replay this will let more new stuff to discover ...

Then there are the fights with the giant crayfish and giant frogs... even my hight hp fighter types get killed in one hit.... Very aggravating game which is sad because ToEE was one of my faves in PnP.

Yes, auto-save should be disabled if using Co8 modpacks. consoling stats is cheating *shrugs* While changing back and forth between stat generation methods is only taking advantage of a loohole in the system :D

My system had a problem with q-save after mods were applied as noted at Co8. The corruption of my save files made playing rather difficult as you might imagine. Otherwise, you'd have to be insane not to save frequntly in any case, but especially before a big fight (or, at least, when you expect one ...

I agree totally. I was only explaining the root of my original response that high stats aren't that important. As I said before, it doesn't really apply to crpg's with their limited roleplaying opp's. Someday...someday.

I don't think that a hunting animal would get skittish if rode into combat, do you?
Actually, yes I do. Combat and hunting, though similiar in many respects are quite different in many important ones. Firstly, when hunting, you usually try not to let your prey hack at you with weapons (natural or ...

This means you can take average on a 20 sided die. Average is 10.5 and rounded down, it's 10. It basically means you can take average or roll for a chance of perfection (20 being perfect).
Also, the reason you can take 20 on some skills and not others is because it is assumed that you keep trying ...

New mods::) or :mad:

i've been without my PC for months for reasons I'll not go into here, so I was wondering about people's opinions of Co8's modpack 5.0.? Without any spoilers I'd like to get some info from outside the Circle on the content and how much improved from v. 4.0 or whichever the last was before the new 5.0 ...

Iguess the extra could be worthwhile in crpg's where the ability to role-play thru weaker stats isn't available. As an old-time PnPer from the days of 'basic' DnD, I still believe taking what you get and making the best of it. Unless, that is, you roll three 3's, a 6, and two 9's, or the equivalent ...

That's why I recommended the walkthrough: not so much for straight area-to-area help, but it has great advice on party composition and on the "why?" behind each character.

BTW, great sig. ;-)

Also, spending some time to roll up some high Ability Scores does pay off, especially for the early part of the game.

High scores are nice, but not ...

Don't give up on ToEE. It does start a bit slow, that's because your low-level and unfamiliar with the game. When you get a couple levels under your belt, and more options and abilities, it picks up the pace rather nicely. If you're going to quit just because it's hard ( most would say challenging ...

I've never had to do anything as far set-up to activate the console. I'm not running 5.0.0, yet. Although I very highly doubt Co8 did anything to the console, it's not impossible, I guess. Best to ask over there, especially in regards to anything they've done, modding-wise, to ToEE.
I wish I could ...
