i agree that the BG series is better than the NWN series. that is why i would start with NWN; it would be hard to take the step down from BG to NWN.

Using the console is probably the more simple option. Open the baldur.exe file in the game directory and add the line Debug Mode=1 under the Program Options header. Then start up your game, use ctrl+space to open the console, and type the line CLUAConsole:CreateItem(" ITEM ") putting the above item ...

ranger/clerics are one of the best tank-type characters in the game, owing to the fact they can cast the full range of both cleric and druid spells, meaning they can buff with iron skins.

i've heard that, after a certain point in the game, different monsters appear. never tried it out myself though. not sure how far you've got in the game so i won't say when it is though.

IWD has an epic feel, while in the BG games your character has to defend himself versus a private enemy. While the BG1 story does at least make sense somewhat the BG2 story is just depth faking nonsense.

One of the reasons I like BG2 so much is the personalness of the story. In IWD (and ...

I finished this game quite recently as well and was under the ompression that the nameless one had infact been to the fortress of regrets several times before, once for each of the incarnations there? and that it was the practical ...

hm, if i recall correctly, quayle doesn't give out any more quests after the circus tent one. i do remember once him sending a message whilst aerie was in the party, but the only thing he said was to give a pointer to the haer'dalis quest.

it is possible that romancing aerie would trigger something ...

I think its ctrl+i, not ctrl+t, that triggers the banters, now that I think about it. And to edit your alignment, you can use shadowkeeper, a save game editor. Search for it in google.

Ascention is a mod that changes the end of ToB significantly. Its done by one of the original designers, and it adds more role-playing options into the ending, making it less linear i guess. It also makes it much, much more difficult. I think it have to start a new game to use it if you've past the ...

Hi,

Quick question, is the 1.0b patch downloadable from this website the latest patch for this game? Also, are there any fan-made pathces that are recommended?

as far as i know, BGT is no longer supported, whereas tutu is, so tutu is probably the better option in that respect. i've never tried BGT but recommend tutu, esp with the npc project.

and yes you just export your character.

imoen may be a good archer, but probably not as good as coran or kivan. minsc and shar-teel can also be good archers. all of these can use better bows than imoen (possibly not coran, can't remember the rules for multiclass, but he has a much better dex anyway). there is no reason to keep imoen as ...

problems (maybe bugs)

Hello,

I'm having two problems (possibly bugs) and was hoping somebody could help me with them...

1) I can't find Tin Can Bill despite forking out £20 of my hard earned cash to a bum
2) Lecroix won't give me the Downtown safehouse, even though I'm pretty sure I meet the criteria (Brujah, didn't ...

You didn't read what i said. The engine has limitations. One of those is that it cannot represent a large area as a single one - normally if you'd go through a door, there isn't some magical barrier that stop arrows and fireballs. Another is that the AI often doesn't really know how to work with ...

I'd go with Aerie or Haer'dalis. Reason: you are going to be very short on arcane power, especially before spellhold. I would entirely ignore the other fighters (Keldorn, Korgan and Mazzy) as you already have 2 and a half tanks, plus one in ToB. Another cleric type wouldn't be too bad, but I think ...

i'd say it is RPish - if i was having my arse handed to me in a can, i'd probably make a run for it, so why wouldnt the characters in an RPG?

never heard of a fix to it though.
