It's a character-only issue, don't waste time uninstalling your game, you'll only give yourself a headache. Make sure you have the latest Defiler (3.3.4 at the time of this post), and send that character's player.chr file to webmaster@demortex.com , and I'll see about fixing it for you.

I believe some "sets" aren't really sets, they have matching names and most will be epics...but an item or two will be a green (which a relic/charm can be placed in). Could be what you're thinking of.

No. Relics/charms are not placeable on blues and purples.

It probably wouldn't be a TON of hassle to kill Typhon again, but if you don't want to do that, you can always use the Defiler to give yourself that first waypoint in Hades (next to where you start anyway I believe), so that you don't have to go through the trouble.

Just posting and update that the Defiler 3.3.1 has been released with the new code.

Just posting an update that the latest Defiler (3.3.1) now has the ability to recalculate the integrity check (and fix the embedded paths) in your caravan files as well.

It's the equivalent of Diablo 2's stash, with the exception that you can use it to swap items between your characters via a shared stash area.

Instead of a character check, Immortal Throne has a check placed on the character's caravan files...and because the path is also embedded in the file if the path isn't correct it gets wiped...and if you change the path the check won't match (and it gets wiped). The Defiler can copy a custom character to main quest...however, I only just today came up with the code required to create a new check for the caravan files, so those will be lost unless you wait for a new Defiler (3.3.1).

The game updates do not affect characters based on their use of TQ Vault, simply use TQ Vault Monitor or the Defiler's 'Patch Game' feature to see them again, if you still have problems uninstall Titan Quest and update to the version you were previously using and you should be fine...reload each ...

What folder exactly did you backup? Please copy/paste the whole path for me to see.

This is a 'check-in' post to see if the OP solved his problem, the Defiler can be used to solve this issue, just curious if it was or not.

Go to this folder:
\My Documents\My Games\Titan Quest\SaveData\Main\_[Character]\Levels_World_World01.map\[Difficulty]

The Defiler does NOT (yet) have ability to edit quest status. You can modify waypoints, however, if you are not able to simply continue for some reason. Simply add /pvp to the Titan Quest game's shortcut. Note that pvp is NOT at all balanced.

You can also use the Defiler to do this temporarily (and easier) through a simple menu option.

Try using TQ Vault Monitor to start Titan Quest, or use my Defiler's 'Patch Game' feature ([url]http://tq.demortex.com)[/url], both do identical things to make the game think you have a legit character. TQ Vault can also be downloaded from my website.
