Why do you assume that the Mind Flayers would remove all weapons? It seems to me that you are there to be gladiators. They would either give you basic weaponry and armor or, more likely, let you keep your stuff so long as it did not interfere with their psionics. The "people" you fight have their ...

I did it by taking out the units, then having a character remove weapons and slap her once. I got the "disrupted" message, got the armor and the necklaces and did not fight Pontifex.

IIRC, it's in the hut in the Sendai area (before you go underground). You can get it before or after you dispense with the drow.

Demis, you need the stone (gem) that the dwarf ghost has in the House of Gems.

Garetjax 65 - you need to induce the naga to leave his lair (or at least open the door) by having a necklace that he covets. I think the Amulet of War did it for me.

I've done it solo a couple of ways (Cleric/Barbarian/Rogue, Paladin/Cleric/Monk and Paladin/Monk). The basic problem with this game is its lack of balance. As you noted, there are too many good things given out way too early. Correspondingly, the first half hour of the game will kill your solo ...

Solo's - First was a Cleric/Barbarian/Rogue (wound up 16/8/8), stats were great. Second was a Paladin/Monk (wound up 16/16), stats were also great. Obviously, any solo gets all of the power ups for him or herself.

You can also do a two or three character party. If three, I'd recommend a Cleric ...

It's a hack/n/slash fest with little (and I mean very little) role-playing or problem-solving. If that were it, it would be fine. However, it is extremely buggy, even after three patches. Save after every battle, as it has the tendency to dump you to windows at random times. However, if you go in ...

First, you cannot have a barbarian/monk because of alignment problems.

As to the characters, if you are looking for balance and the ability to use all of the items in the game, you probably want something like this:

Cleric/Paladin
Sorcerer/Barbarian
Rogue/Ranger
Fighter/Monk

This gives you a ...

I'm going with the Paladin/Monk as well. Mine is at 16/5, I'm in the second cellar, have cleared out just about everything else possible up to that point, haven't skipped any fights and generally am having an easy time of it. Lack of cleave is a bit of a pain, but a hyped up pre-fight routine of ...

The large iron key is obtained on the other side of the door (you enter that area from a portal on the surface)

I'm sorry, but I don't remember where the fragile iron key was.

Any closed doors with no keys mentioned can be opened by you (have you tried smashing/breaking them) except for a couple ...

Is that the door with the stairs behind it (about the middle of the map east-west and roughly one third up from the bottom)? If so, you get that key coming up the stairs from below (on the third level I believe near the arracat nest).

As far as I know, there is no complete walkthrough anywhere. However, it is very possible to complete the game while leaving many areas untouched. Given that you've made it most of the way through the catacombs, it looks like you should be able to complete the game. If you want to list the areas you ...

I think you are in trouble as far as getting in and completing all available quests. However, I don't think that this will impact your ability to complete the game. You should still be able to do everything you need to resolve the main issues.

You need to do one of two things here. Either go up to the first level and down a different staircase to pick up the key on the other side of the door or, if you have released all of the orrerry planets, I think one of them teleports you in to one of the areas you are not reaching now. I am assuming ...
