but you'll run into a problem later on when you can't craft anything for your monk (no wizard powers)
And great cleave only works if you happen to be dropping tons of bug bears...
if you get surrounded chances are they're at least going to get 1 attack each, possibly more, you could easily face 16 ...

yes I was never interested in NWN for its main core story. Infact I wished they hadn't even included it. Originally NWN was going to be designed as an online virtual DND game that a DM could set up a game ahead of time and play with his friends... but somewhere along the line things got changed ...

Well thats fine, but what if you want to play as a fighter? or a wizard?
you might be able to find a single combination of PC, skills, feats, gameplay, etc in order to do it..but its not a generally open gameplay method.
Even a monk is going to end up being surrounded by bugbears in the moathouse ...

Unfortunately ToEE is not set up for modding. NWN happens to be. Sure the graphics aren't perfect, and the rules aren't implemented completely perfectly, but as a tool to create good roleplaying games its light years ahead of anything else right now.

Thats what I said. It needs a rules update to bring it up to 3.5E.. I know Atari has hinted on their message boards that there is going to be an announcement for NWN soon. Perhaps it will be a new expansion WITH a new rules update (or NWN 2)

Except that already sort of exists.. in a sense.
NWN is what you want to make it.. you can mod it out to whatever you want it to be. Including NPCs with romances, etc
it includes a full scripting language.
It needs a rules update to reflect the 3.5E changes, but otherwise you can do all those things ...

Then I highly suggest you find another game. Unless the game is designed specifically for single character play, its highly unlikely that it would ever be balanced for such play if you wanted to do it like that.

When your caster reachers level 5 (best done with cleric or wizard) have them take craft wand and craft a wand of read magic for 375 gp, it will give you 20 charges of read magic.

Since this is troika's first D&D game... what would they make it compatible with? THey're not going to make it compatible with IWD2 ..its not their game, it uses a slightly different rules set (3.0E for one and it also uses some Forgotten realms specific feats)

Except to remove the level cap would be an exhaustive amount of work. Once they removed it, everyone would want all the higher level feats, then they'd want the epic feats, and then they'd want spells..but not just some spells, they'd want them all. It would probably double or triple their workload ...

This was discussed in another ToEE message board, and while its not an impossible task its really not something that will be open to everyone like NWN was. In order to mod ToEE you need to hand draw everything. NWN was 3D with placable objects, and scripting etc

Well something you should be aware of is the fact that the fx5200 was kind of a bum card. While it had new technology it suffered in performance issues, getting worse scores on alot of games compared with the Geforce4 mx 440 8x AGP 64 mb card.
You may want to try turning everything down, or think ...
