Dungeon Siege II Quest Items: Pages 9-10
| Quest Item 41: Bridge Activation Crystal
|
Location: Given to you by Finala at the end of the primary quest
Finala and the Broken Bridge
|
This crystal was given to you by Finala, the Aman'lu engineer, to use to activate the
bridges on the Elen'lu Isles.
The Elen'lu Isles have always been shrouded in mystery. The children of Aman'lu used to
dare each other to venture out to the isles and look for hidden treasure; but when the
taclak became more vicious, Celeb'hel ordered the bridges disabled. Now, the bridges
can only be activated by this crystal.
It was assumed that the Prism of the Elves at the heart of the Isles was still functioning,
protecting Aman'lu from any danger, but the recent onslaught by Valdis and his Archmage made
it clear that something is wrong. Perhaps the answer lies with the savage taclak who inhabit
the isles.

| Quest Item 42: Carved Rod
|
Location: Found in an Ancient Elven Reliquary
(Northern Vai'lutra Forest, #1)
|
You obtained this rod in a chest near a spirit called Guardian of the Staff.
When Arinth the Mad was imprisoned by the ancient Elven sorcerer Isteru, he broke Arinth's
staff of power into three pieces, which he then scattered and hid in secret locations. This
Carved Rod is one of those pieces.
Eolanda the Combat Mage in Aman'lu will be very pleased to see that you have found this
artifact.

| Quest Item 43: First Small Prism Refractor Crystal
|
Location: Dropped by an elite taclak in the Elen'lu Isles
(The Elen'lu Isles, #1)
|
Obtained from the corpse of a dead taclak on the Elen'lu Isles, this crystal seems to
absorb the light around it. If it is placed in a reflective socket, it will emite a
single, intense beam of energy.
The Prism of the Elves needs four small refractor crystals to gather the diffused island
light into concentrated beams, and one large refractor crystal to combine the four beams
into one. This central beam is then used to power an ancient magical shield that protects
the Vai'lutra Forest.

|
| Quest Item 44: Second Small Prism Refractor Crystal

| Quest Item 45: Third Small Prism Refractor Crystal
|

(The Elen'lu Isles, #1)

| Quest Item 46: Fourth Small Prism Refractor Crystal
|
Location: Dropped by an elite taclak in the Elen'lu Isles
(The Elen'lu Isles, #1)
|

|
| Quest Item 47: Large Prism Refractor Crystal
|
Location: Dropped by an elite taclak in the Elen'lu Isles
(The Elen'lu Isles, #1)
|
Obtained from the corpse of a dead taclak on the Elen'lu Isles, this crystal can focus
them and reactivate the Prism of the Elves if all four beams of energy are aimed properly.
You were taught as a child that the Prism's creation was Isteru's last act. Near the end
of his life, he saw that Aranna was growing more dangerous, and although Azunai had
successfully ended Zaramoth's rule, the resulting cataclysm and the power of the Dark
Wizards had left the door open for many great evils to surface. Isteru knew that the
forest would need protection.
The protective magic generated by the Prism is nearly a thousand years old, and some of
the elders fear that it is weakening and may not be strong enough to protect against the
powerful magic of the Dark Wizards. A few suspect that this weakening is contributing
to the decay at the edges of the Vai'lutra Forest. However, since no one knows how long
the refractor crystals have been missing, you wonder if the Prism has simply been disabled
long enough to let evil seep into the forest.

| Quest Item 48: Elven House Key
|
Location: Dropped by Magrus during the secondary quest
Lothar's Innocence
|
Lothar accused Magrus of stealing Roland's golden cloak -- the crime which Roland has accused
Lothar of perpetrating. Magrus departed in a hurry, leaving this house key behind.
You are not sure what it opens, but hopefully you will find the house this key opens somewhere
nearby.

|
| Quest Item 49: Roland's Golden Cloak
|
Location: Dropped by Magrus during the secondary quest
Lothar's Innocence
|
Roland of Aman'lu accused Lothar of stealing this cloak. However, Lothar has always professed
his innocence, and with some careful sleuthing he discovered that another half-giant, Magrus,
was the true thief. Lothar bested Magrus in battle and recovered Roland's cloak.
Now that you have seen the cloak for yourself, you understand why Roland values it. It appears
to be made from the finest elven silkstrand cloth interwoven with a golden thread, resulting in
a shimmer effect that would clearly draw the eyes of even the loveiest women.
After seeing Magrus' homely features, you wonder if he snatched the cloak for that same reason.

| Quest Item 50: A Portrait of the Lady of the Estate
|
Location: Acquired during the secondary quest
A Servant's Haunt
|
You obtained this painting from within the Levreth Estate by following the ghost of Threnith
Wilwarin.
This painting shows a wealthy-looking Elven woman, probably the Lady of the Estate.
You have never seen a portrait in Aman'lu (Elven art tends more toward abstract
depictions of ethereal concepts), and suspect it might have been painted by a
traveling Human artist.
You know that no such artists have come through Vai'lutra in recent times, so the
painting must be quite old.
