Background

Roderick sent two scouting parties into the swamp, but neither has returned. He asked that you watch for them, and send them back to the royalist camp, if you find them.


Walkthrough

Find the Missing Scouts

You'll receive this quest from Roderick in the Swamp Battlefield (#1). He'll tell you about the missing scouting parties, and he'll ask you to look for them. You'll find the first scouting party right next to the First People Village (#3). After helping them to defeat some spiders, they'll return to the royalist camp.

Find the Second Scouting Party

You won't be able to reach the second scouting party (#4) until after you've defeated Maru-yatum (during the quest The Root of the Matter). At that point, Maru-yatum will give you a charm that will allow you to remove the roots in the swamp (#2), clearing the way.

When you reach the second scouting party, you'll find it being attacked by a Spider Matriarch and assorted other spiders. Defeating these spiders will allow the scouting party to return to the royalist camp.

Talk to Roderick

When you return to Roderick (#1), he'll reward you with an Eastern Swamp Razor, a random (probably green) item, 57 coins, and 736 xp.
