In this encounter you'll meet the world-famous PIPBoy! We've heard people say that if you have fewer than six characters in your squad, then the PIPBoy will automatically join you, but that did not happen in our game. When we found the encounter, talking to the PIPBoy caused him to exit the area no matter how large our squad was. Supposedly, after leaving the area, the PIPBoy should show up as an available recruit at Brotherhood bunkers, but that did not work for us, either (we weren't able to get any of the special encounter recruits).
