Imprisonment actually makes sense, since you're stuck in "some hellish pocket plane below the earth" or some such until somebody casts freedom. So if you're soloing, you'd be stuck. Maze is probably what you're refering to, and I readily agree with you there.

What level of Find Traps will I need in ToB?

Making a new party starting in SoA, wondering how much my thief should put in Find Traps for later. (haven't actually played the ToB part yet, just got it yesterday - I assume traps are harder than in SoA?)

I believe the scarlet ninja-to is only usable by monks (although I have been wrong before)

The way I figure, if you've got 1000 years, why rush it? You've got plenty of time left to max yourself out, if you even care all that much. What's the harm in the long run of just lazing around for a couple decades here and there? (hmm, I could really go for a decade of lazing around about now)

This happened to me too when I was soloing a monk with the experience cap off. Nothing reasonable would take it away, including sleep. A few days later (real time), though, it just disappeared. I still have no idea why it happened, and it hasn't happened since then.

Every time I've had a berserked fighter, he's been immune to imprisonment. I've never tried a barbarian, although I suspect you'd get the same effect.

Experience for killing summoned fiends?

I was wasting time killing summoned fiends (a cheese move, I admit), when I noticed something odd. Rather than the listed experience for the kill, I was received 10% more than expected. Specifically, 11k from Cacofiend instead of 10k, 13750 for Fiend instead of 12500, and 17600 for Gate instead of ...

It says +2 in the main title, but in the first line of the description it actually says +3. And if you equip it and test against a normal flail, you find that it is indeed a +3. Or at the very least, the bonus it gives is a +3. Whether or not they consider it a +3 for hitting purposes I'm not sure ...

DoE gives a +3 bonus (fortunately I had a normal flail in my weapon slots to test with... the only question left is why). And if you want to have some real fun, equip DoE and change into a rat, although I really can't fathom how physical damage can actually heal you.

It gets even better if you have the Defender of Easthaven equipped (it might have to be in the off hand, I haven't tried it in the main hand). Your physical resists go above 100%, and then physical damage actually heals you.

You can also do the "potion-casting" technique. Pause the game, move a potion into a slot in your inventory (not a quick spot). Click on the potion and drink. Then before leaving the inventory screen, replace the potion with the scroll (find familiar in this case). When you return to the game and ...

Naturally, to have both spells simultaneously active, you'd need to cast the black blade before casting tensor's.

THACO for Black Blade of Disaster + Tenser's

If you have both Tenser's transformation (gives THACO of same level fighter) and Black Blade of Disaster (THACO of 1/2 level fighter) active, which THACO do you end up using?

It's not a certainty, but I've found it sometimes on the 2nd floor of the Harper Compound. I haven't gotten it every time, though, so odds are probably against it for a given game.

Actually, I found 1 piece of body armor that my kensai/thief could wear, and it blew my mind. For some reason he was able to equip the armor that you get when you loot Mae'Var, which has a decent AC on it (and bonus to hide in shadows)

Hidden message in asylum

I don't know if it's common knowledge (it's certainly useless knowledge), but if anybody has spoken to Wanev twice in the asylum, you get an "indecipherable" message from him. As it turns out, it's encrypted using a simple +4 shift cipher, and it's quite easily deciphered. It still doesn't make much ...

Kensai/Thief armor?

Are dual class Kensai/Thieves supposed to be able to wear armor? Apparently I can put the shadow armor on (from Mae'var), although I haven't found anything else that works so far. (Perhaps due to the Thieves Only - single/multi/dual class description? Does this hold for robes with the more common ...
